Iron Hill Brewery abruptly closes Chestnut Hill Location:

Chestnut Hill residents were surprised Wednesday morning to find Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant permanently closed.

In a press release, the company announced they were closing the Chestnut Hill Location along with its Newark and Voorhees locations “as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to adapt to a changing business landscape while focusing on strengthening its long-term growth and success.”

The statement continued, “Iron Hill emphasizes that this decision was not made lightly, and it remains deeply appreciative of the opportunity to be part of these local communities.”

Anou Vongbandith, head chef of Das Good Cafe in Germantown, was detained by ICE on July 26. Vongbandith, originally from Laos, has been in the U.S. since he was 5, but never attained citizenship in large part due to a plea bargain he accepted in 2008.
