S1MUL8, the brainchild of Kevin Petrikin's passion, was ignited by an early love for guitar that clashed with traditional teachings. His journey, sculpted by metal's thunderous riffs and the immersive energy of metalcore, converged with a newfound fascination for electronic beats and the free-flowing melodies of jam bands. In college, amid the whirlwind of live music and social fervor, his guitar

skills took a backseat until the magnetic pull of bands like Intervals and Polyphia reignited his dedication. Yet, his path was challenged by chronic tendinopathy, a barrier to his practice but a catalyst for innovation. Embracing limitations as a muse, S1MUL8 emerged—a synthesis of Kevin's diverse musical adoration. It's an endeavor to weave the essence of rock, metal, electronic, and improvisational joy into a single sonic identity, born from perseverance and a desire to transcend boundaries.

So I've been quiet on this music stuff since that first release...

Honestly doing literally everything involved in a music project on your own is an unbelievable amount of work. I anticipated that but not this much. On top of working a full time job to make a living, I have to wear so many different hats to accomplish all of this.

Mastering
Graphic Design
Web Design
Videography
Video Editing
Marketing
.. and probably more that I can't even think of right now.

There are a lot of parts of the process that I love, but a lot of parts not so much.

The goal of this whole thing is to just have fun so I'm at odds with how serious I want to take this. I really just wanted to prove to myself that I have the commitment to actually go through with producing something in at least a semi-professional manner.

That being said, I don't think I'm going to do any promo for any of this first release, and just dump the EP out.

I have so much fun creating this stuff but figuring out the logistics is beyond exhausting, especially since I lack experience in doing so.

I've been working on a full album since I finished this other stuff back in October, and well... it's significantly better than what I already have ready to release. So I think I'm just gonna take that more seriously when the time comes.

Anyways... my EP, titled "Ionian Dreams" will be out very soon and I'll post on here when that time comes.

I also have a bonus track that will be out in a few weeks as well (a tribute to an early 2000s song) so I'll post more on that when the time comes.
