This is Phil Thomas, co-host of What Are You Afraid Of? I wanted to let you all know that the Kindle version of my book, The Poe Predicament, is up for pre-order on Amazon!! Paperback pre-order coming soon! It is being released on October 4, 2021, from Foundations Books. I would appreciate anyone's support. Here is a brief summary and link to the Amazon page:
Stuck in another time, Richard Langley just wants to find his way back home.
Richard is a former college professor, wandering a local neighborhood bookstore, where he stumbles upon the find of a lifetime: a signed copy of Tamerlane and other poems.
He is soon swept to another era where he is alone and lost.
While struggling to adapt to his nineteenth-century environment, Richard meets a man he must help exonerate from false accusations in order to restore history's original timeline and, ultimately, find his way back to modern-day New York City.
What Richard did not count on, was that man being the owner of the signature—Edgar Allan Poe.

To celebrate Women in Horror Month, we interview Lydia Kang, author of O***m & Absinthe.

To celebrate Women in Horror Month, hosts T. Fox Dunham and Phil Thomas chat with author, physician, baker and researcher Dr. Lydia Kang. Lydia is the author of the O***m and Absinthe, a novel that tells the story of a wealthy young New York heiress who investigates a series of vampire-like killings after the first publication of Dracula. English folksinger David Walton narrates an excerpt from the book, then she shares her insights into writing characters, researching historic settings and even a strange experience she had in a cemetery. To finish the show, Lydia talks about the strange history of medicine, a topic she writes about in her book Quackery. People really did grind up mummies for medicinal powder and believed mercury was a magical elixir.

What Are You Afraid Of? returns after a winter sabbatical, and we’ve got some great episodes planned.
