Happy International Women's Day!
Education Law Center is big on helping families, educators and young people. Shoutout to a great client! Here are some of Bonfire’s shots from their recent ceremony at Vie By Cescaphe. Preserving this momentous ceremony - full of powerful stories and joyous moments - was very exciting. Bonfire also shot Education Law Center’s staff headshots, as so much of their staff and network were present for the event. It was a great opportunity to get professional headshots for many people. E-A-G-L-E-S!!!!!
Hi everyone! We are hoping that your 2023 is getting off to a great start. We here at Bonfire Media Collective have been taking time to reflect on the past year and what we are striving for in the future. We are reevaluating some of our approaches and also looking to connect with more video professionals and media cooperatives in the Philadelphia region and beyond. We are grateful for the amazing clients that we got to work with in 2022. Look out for new posts from us soon highlighting our recent projects! Until then here’s a collage of some of our favorite shots from this year.
If you would like to connect with Bonfire, we encourage you to reach out to us via our website or email us at [email protected]. Links are also in our bio.
A big thanks to our 2022 clients: Alexis Lieberman MD, Advocare Fairmount Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Philadelphia Bail Fund, Philadelphia Area Cooperative Alliance, Education Law Center, Theatre In The X, The 24 Hour Plays, and Anglers Club of Philadelphia. We look forward to another year of video production, photography, animation, and live streaming facilitation.
It was fantastic to have Theatre In The X as a photography client in 2022. Seeing their production of Dreamgirls was a highlight of the summer. Here are just a few of the shots we got that night.
Thanks to our past client Councilmember Kendra Brooks for sharing information about resources for our communities.

They're your Dreamgirls! Thrilled to witness and photograph Theatre In The X's stage adaptation of Dreamgirls. Take a look at some of the night's photography from Alex Wiles. Theatre in the X put on a captivating and emotional performance several nights in a row- bringing arts and culture to the West Philly community. Keep your eye on them because more big things are definitely to come.
We just heard noise rock duo Lightning Bolt is coming back to Philly next month. Here are some of our photos from their intense, sold-out show with Moor Mother at First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia in 2018.

7 Secret Job Hacks
If someone is asking you for data, it means they don’t have it. Feel free to make it up!
You can ignore all requests from project managers. That’s not even a real job.
Always give 100% at Work: 10% Monday, 23% Tuesday, 40% Wednesday, 22% Thursday, and 5% Friday.
Always use the “Praise Sandwich” when giving bad news. For example: “Well done on being the first here! You’re taking notes for this meeting. Nice buttons!”
Remember: The donuts in the break room don’t have a lot of nutritional value on their own. That’s why you have to eat a lot of them!
You don’t have to type “http://www.” every time you want to bring up a new website. Just save it in a text file so you can copy/paste it whenever needed!
If you don’t want to go to a meeting, accept another meeting at the same time, then cancel both due to “scheduling conflicts.” Now you have time to relax!
Happy April Fools! 😂

Happy Labor Day! Here's a lo-fi flashback to when Bonfire member Alex Wiles interviewed Jim Moran on MMPTV about organized labor's role in national politics and what can be learned from efforts to form a national Labor Party in the mid 90s.
In addition to heading up the Philadelphia branch of the Labor Party, Moran was also executive director of the Philadelphia Project on Occupational Safety and Health and was a member of seven different unions. Moran also shares his thoughts on the Occupy Wall Street movement, the challenges facing American workers and the need for various interest groups to join forces to fight for economic justice and human rights.

Bonfire Media Collective is a worker-owned production company focused on telling human stories that catalyze social change.
When we think of a Bonfire, we think of people coming together to tell stories, looking into the fire, imagining stories of the world around them.
We started Bonfire as a worker-owned business to create a means to ensure fair pay, democratic leadership and respectful working conditions in an industry that is plagued by low wages, inconsistent income and long hours.
By sharing our resources, skills and networks, our members gain access to consistent work and opportunities to learn and grow. Our clients get access to a team with a variety of skills and backgrounds and deep roots in movement building, all sustained by a nurturing and vibrant working environment.
We worked together as a collective for over two years before officially opening our doors as Bonfire Media Collective in June 2018. Our past and current clients include the Mural Arts Program, Head Start PA, Philadelphia Writing Project, Philadelphia Area Cooperative Alliance, Rutgers University AFT-AAUP, Food Moxie, Cut50, 215 People’s Alliance and more.
We built Bonfire because we believe in community. We’re living our values in the stories we tell, and in the way we run our business. Let us help you tell your story.
