From the software development desk, here is some news for all developers out there!

[Tool] CEOS SpriteSheet: A functional utility for sprite assembly and verification.

To help with the efficiency of creating 1000-s of sprites for ’the Grand Capybara Hotel’, we build a handy and straight-forward tool. With the sole purpose of bridging the gap between raw asset generation (AI, scans, loose frames) and game engine import.

It is called CEOS_SpriteSheet,…

This project visualizes a gondola cableway connecting Philadelphia's cherished landmarks: from the vibrant pulse of Love Park, offering a unique aerial approach to the majestic Rocky Steps, to an unforgettable side trip over the Schuylkill River, revealing the splendor of Boathouse Row, and finally, delivering enthusiastic soccer or cycling fans right to the heart of the action at Lemon Hill.

Did I go a bit overboard with this idea or could you see yourself hang over one of these events?

Envisioning Philly in 2026: An Aerial Journey – Where Dreams and Data Converge

Imagine Philadelphia's iconic landscapes transformed by a new perspective. Picture yourself floating gently above the city, carried in a sleek, retro-inspired gondola reminiscent of Switzerland's majestic alpine routes. This isn't just a fantasy; it's the heart of our "Blue Sky" concept: a creative exploration into a new way to experience the city.

What began as a personal "fever-dream"—a creative spark ignited amidst the conceptualization, debugging, and testing of our Creative Engine OS production pipeline—evolved into a robust exploration of what's possible when imagination meets advanced generative AI. We used the unique aesthetic of 1950s/1970s Swiss tourism photography to ground a futuristic concept in a sense of classic charm, making the visionary feel tangible.

Through this process, we asked ourselves: Did we go a bit overboard with this idea, or could we truly see ourselves soaring over one of these incredible events? Our AI-generated visuals immerse you in the potential: from the awe-inspiring spectacle of July 4th fireworks over the Art Museum, to the thrilling energy of the Philadelphia Marathon, the festive chaos of the Thanksgiving Day Parade, or the focused intensity of a Regatta on the Schuylkill. The gondola isn't just transit; it's a front-row seat to the city's living history and vibrant culture.

This project highlights how AI can move beyond simple image generation to become a powerful tool for ethical data storytelling and innovative urban conceptualization. It helps us envision lean, sustainable solutions that enhance civic life and offer meaningful, elevated perspectives.

We invite you to explore the full gallery and let us know what you think! Could this gondola be Philadelphia's next iconic feature?

I went to an art show recently and saw a participant filling out a W9 to get paid... while another duo tweaked k***s under a gimmicky ferrofluid ‘sandscape’. This moment of transaction vs. art was exactly what I needed to realize a fundamental truth: Art becomes better from what the artist desires to leave out, rather than what to show.

My new essay, The Editing Manifesto: Why Less is Art (Part 1 of 2), uses this chaos to dissect why we are drowning in visual ‘slop’ and what the true nature of editing is. As an editor, I believe we need better filters.

TEST BALLOON: Why I'm building an OS dedicated to CULLING creative chaos

As an editor, I often put out little test balloons to learn from audience reactions. Consider this the first. I’ve attached a photo of some tangled cables—this is my visual metaphor for the low-rumbling garbage and visual 'slop' I see everywhere.

It crystallized a core belief: Art becomes better from what the artist desires to leave out, rather than what to show. With the bombardment of ill-intended experiments (often accelerated by AI tools), we urgently need better filters.
My quest is to create a set of tools to help in the process of curating, culling, and editing out the trash. I am formalizing this into the Creative Engine OS (CEOS), built on self-hosted, open-source tools to guide complex workflows. My full manifesto—The Editing Manifesto—drops Monday.

Question for the community: Does the sheer volume of unfiltered, low-effort content (digital ‘mud’) currently drain your creative energy? Or am I the only one seeking an anti-dote to this constant stream-of-too-many-options?

📸 Old Hallow's Eve Tradition: Captured.
The chill of anticipation is in the air! We love seeing generations honor tradition—from the students heading to their annual costume parade to the decorated homes awaiting the evening's festivities.
The magic of Halloween is already unfolding. Look closer and feel the spirit! 👻

It's inspiring to see more people are leaning into the same direction! Would love to learn what utilities people are actually looking for to have in their creative toolboxes.

This ties in perfectly with our recent development of the Contact Sheets tool as it was born from a similar frustration - https://bastiaanslabbers.com/labs/contactsheets_app_index/

Our content hosting partner PhotoShelter halted their Virtual Agency web-tool. This core component on which OOgImages was build needed to be replaced nuttigs proved to be a huge undertaking. The total number of images in my archives is closing in on 30k and I had no clue on how to put this together. Code-vibeing seemed to provide the answer!

The massive hurdle of the development of the logic and functionality was leveled after a few vibe-code sessions. Starting with the biggest obstacle -- creating a dynamic render tool for image workflow management -- resulted in a lot of smaller tooling victories along the path.
