"We are very excited about the incredible lineup we have put together for the third annual Reggae in the Park festival. We have some of reggae’s top icons as well as some of dancehalls hottest acts. Having Matisyahu, Steel Pulse, Inner Circle, Morgan Heritage, Mavado and Konshens share the stage will make for an epic reggae experience in the park," stated co-promoter Jamaican Dave. Over the course of a 35 year career, Steel Pulse have been known for their revolutionary messages of love and justice for mankind. "Without love there is no justice and without justice there is no peace" is the mission of the band. The Grammy-Award- winning band was formed in 1975 & remains a mainstay in the reggae scene. Emerging in the early 2000’s, Matisyahu achieved early success as "The hasidic reggae superstar" with his breakout album 'Live at Stubbs' which reached #1 on the Reggae Album charts and number 30 on the Billboard top 200. Grammy-Award- winning "Bad Boys of Reggae" Inner Circle , are known for their 30 plus years in the music industry and their immense popularity in reggae. Born in Jamaica , this quintet is one of the worlds most respected reggae groups with a long string of success stretching back to the 70’s. Inner Circle has garnered fans of reggae and pop throughout their career especially after their hit single "Bad Boys" feature in the Eddie Murphy soundtrack for Beverly Hills Cop III, which years later became the title song for Will Smith/Martin Lawrence action film "Bad Boys". Morgan Heritage. Nearly two decades and ten albums later, the mission has come full circle for Morgan Heritage. Globally known as the “Royal Family of Reggae,” and now today being dubbed as the “Rolling Stones of Reggae” (in large part due to the act’s electric stage shows), Morgan Heritage has established themselves as the premiere live group on the reggae circuit. Mavado. With dancehall hits from the early 90s to present, Mavado has established himself as one of main staples of the dancehall arena. With his signing to DJ Khaled’s record label We the Best Music Group in 2011, Mavado has expanded his reach beyond the dancehall scene and into the hip hop world collaborating with the likes of Meek Mill, Ace Hood & Akon. It was also recently confirmed that he would be featured on tracks on new albums from both Rick Ross & Iggy Azalea, poising him for a breakout year in 2014. Konshens. Dubbed the” Prince of Dancehall", Konshens is rapidly climbing the ladder of international stardom. Most recently, he was featuredon The Arsenio Hall show along with Kingston-born reggae/dancehall icon Sean Paul. With a relatively young career in the music business, Konshens versatility has already garnered fans from both the dancehall and reggae arena. Festival doors open at 1:30pm, show starts at 2pm.
