Gay hiking in Montana! 🌈

I visited Montana last week for the first time ever to celebrate the wedding of a friend I’ve had since I was 3 years old (!!)

And while I was there, I took a hike through Glacier National Park - and it genuinely was so beautiful that it felt unreal at times.

My new pride backpack from was the perfect hiking accessory, especially because the pattern is full of affirmations, which I definitely needed during some of the more…upward trekking parts of the hike 😅

In all, we walked about 7 miles through the park, and saw waterfalls, snow-covered mountain peaks, beautiful flowers, and even a marmot!

It feels strange being back home in a city now — I keep looking up and expecting to see mountains. 🏔️ So that must mean I’ll have to visit Montana again soon!

💬 Have you ever been hiking in Montana?

💬 What affirmations would you tell yourself to get through a tough moment?

✨ Have you ever heard of the label genderq***r?

is an LGBTQ+ gender identity that describes any gender that doesn’t fit neatly into the gender binary of man and woman.

Like every identity, there are many ways to be genderq***r - and there are no “right” or “wrong” ways!

For example…
💜 Some genderq***r people also identify with the labels transgender and/or non-binary, while others don’t. Either way is okay!

🤍 Genderq***r people can use any pronouns they feel comfortable with (including multiple sets!) and express themselves in whatever ways feel best for them, regardless of societal norms.

💚 Each genderq***r person will might use different additional labels - LGBTQ+ or not - to describe their sexuality and other nuances of their identity. Each person is unique!

Here’s to fluidity in identity!!!🥳🌈

I remember feeling so confused when I was trying to figure out my gender years ago, because it kept shifting and changing — yet I kept trying to fit my identity into a single box, not realizing that fluidity was a possible option.

But now that I know I am genderfluid, and that having a fluid identity is a more common experience than I was taught, I feel so much peace and comfort with myself! I love knowing that I am genderfluid, and that that is a wonderful and valid experience 🥰

💬 Does your gender or sexuality, or any other part of your identity, feel fluid? What was your journey of discovering and understanding this part of yourself? 💬

Happy !!! 🩷💜💙

Bisexual Awareness Week is celebrated each year from September 16-23 — and concludes with Bisexual Pride Day on September 23 (tomorrow!!)

Bisexuality is a wonderful LGBTQ+ identity where people are attracted to 2 or more genders (this includes not *just* men and women, but any gender identity out there).

Each bisexual person will have a unique experience in their identity and what genders they hold attraction to. But regardless of the nuances, every bisexual person’s identity is valid and worthy of celebration and affirmation 🥰🌈

💬 Shout yourself out if you’re bisexual and/or share your favorite bisexual people to follow here on Instagram! 💬

🏳️‍🌈 I always knew the heteronormative life felt wrong to me, but I didn’t always know there were other options!

One of my favorite parts of realizing I’m q***r has been finding validation and possibility in living my life exactly how *I* want to live it, and not feeling forced to squeeze myself into narrow boxes.

I love living a life that is authentic to me, and I’m so thankful to have discovered who I am in my adulthood — so I could have the chance to examine which societal norms do and don’t work for me, and then adjust my life to better fit who I am 🌈

💬 What’s your favorite part about being gay / LGBTQ+ / uniquely YOU? 💬
