El 53,7 % de los latines que definitivamente planean votar afirma no sentirse representado por ningún partido político.

El resultado evidencia uno de los principales desafíos para la participación política latina: la distancia entre la intención de votar y el sentimiento de representación partidista.

This is the first article in our ten‑part series exploring the stories, challenges, and everyday realities of two deeply connected communities: Norristown and South Philadelphia — specifically, the Latino communities that have built their lives in these neighborhoods.

Most residents are Mexican, followed by Central American families. They are resilient, full of faith, and driven by progress — opening small businesses where others might hesitate, holding on to the American Dream (or whatever version of it still exists today).

This series is a tribute to the Latinos who fight tirelessly for their futures and for the generations coming after them.

This project is made possible by the People’s Media Fund and coordinated by Gabriela Rivera.

We’re excited to share that 2Puntos teamed up with PA for a powerful collaboration to report on the elections. Together, we designed a survey to better understand Latino perspectives on politics, democracy, and even the post‑Trump era.

We’re currently processing the results, but the real highlight is the collaboration itself. Partnering with a non‑media organization while operating as a hyper‑local outlet gave us a unique opportunity: they brought strengths we didn’t have, and we brought strengths they needed. And now, we have fresh, firsthand data that helps us understand the issue within our community — and share that information back with them.

It’s also worth noting that through another collaboration with Media, we expanded the survey’s reach and built new relationships that will support future dissemination.

Cross‑sector partnerships like these strengthen our ecosystem and deepen our understanding of the communities we serve.

Dozens gathered at Philadelphia’s City Hall Wednesday for a vigil honoring the victims of Colombia’s devastating earthquake. 💛💙❤️

Organized by Acción Colombia, the vigil marked the beginning of an ongoing effort to support rescue, relief and rebuilding efforts.
Join the donation drive this Saturday & Sunday (Aug. 15-16), 5 a.m.–3 p.m. at Amigo’s Colombian Bakery (6216 Bustleton Ave).

Needed: non-perishable food, baby/hygiene supplies, first aid materials, pet food, and packing supplies. New, unopened items only. Volunteers also needed to sort and pack donations.

Colombia duele, pero también demuestra que la solidaridad no tiene fronteras. 🇨🇴❤️

Este miércoles, la comunidad colombiana y latina en Filadelfia se reunió frente a la Alcaldía para honrar a las víctimas del terremoto que sacudió el occidente de Colombia y acompañar, desde la distancia, a quienes hoy enfrentan la pérdida, la incertidumbre y la reconstrucción.

La vigilia, organizada por Acción Colombia, fue también un mensaje de esperanza: “Donde hay vida, hay esperanza.”

📸 En estas imágenes, compartimos algunos momentos de una noche marcada por el dolor, pero también por la unión y el compromiso de ayudar.

La solidaridad continúa. Este fin de semana se estarán recolectando donaciones para apoyar a las comunidades afectadas.
