Last week as I was driving into work I began noticing how most licensed driver (myself included) blatantly disobeyed traffic laws & signs.

Even traffic lights were purposely being ignored. My first thought was that these individuals were running behind schedule; (another story for another time),or like me they just weren't paying much attention. While pondering my thoughts I came to the conclusion that we just were not paying much attention to our surroundings or what lied on the road ahead.

Isn't that just like life?

Often times We can be focused on so many non-essential issues that we blindly miss what's right in front of our eyes. In the book of Matthew chapter 16 a few Pharisees and Sadducees approached Jesus trying to tempt him into showing them a sign from Heaven.

Jesus responded by saying, "When it is evening ye say it will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, it will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and lowering. "O Ye Hypocrites!" ye can discern the face of the sky; but ye cannot discern the signs of the time."

So many people today are only interested in things linked to this wicked culture that surrounds us, some go as far as to worship those popular individuals who haven't a care or concern for the things of God. Even church goers who profess to be followers of Christ have been bewitched daily by the entertainment world. Secular artist are lauded because they can create an inspirational song of praise to the Lord that's not inspired by the Holy Ghost; but only amounts to being nothing more than "False Fire" and yet the people of God fail to notice the difference, or even recognize the signs of the time.

Minute by excruciating minute iniquity is abounding and the hearts of many have waxed cold. Genuine parenthood and marriages are becoming "obsolete", there's little to no respect for mankind, murder is on an up-swing each and everyday. Every corrupt nation, organization, and politician operate from an agreement of evil: cancel culture has become so accepted that men and women now have an option when identifying as male or female.

Take heed that no man deceive you; "SEEK YE THE LORD WHILE HE MAY BE FOUND, CALL UPON HIM WHILE HE IS NEAR." the signs are so very clear, our Savior and Lord is soon to return for those who love and obey Him; will you be in the number?

Don't ignore the signs

Focusing On The "LITTLE" Picture

Isn't funny how performing certain activities can bring back precious memories of times gone by?

While working on a new janitorial contract one afternoon I thought of my mother and how she supervised us when we were doing our chores on Saturdays.

One day in particular, my brother and I were busy sweeping the living room, and dining room floors.
It was so easy for us to see the bigger pieces of paper or debris in the middle of the floors and right away we would sweep it up. "No problem, job well done right?"

Not so fast....Mom was always able to spot dust and very small particles of debris along the crevices of the baseboards, or far underneath the couch. We'd be so frustrated because it was just another speed-bump to hinder us from finally going outside to hang out with friends as we were promised.
It almost seemed as if she could just smell dirt anywhere!

Ahhh precious memories, how they linger...

That stroll down memory lane brought to mind my walk with Christ and my reaction / response to sins that we as believers commit on a regular basis. More importantly, it made me see how people grade sins of the flesh on different levels. For instance; just taking a little pocket-change from your moms purse without asking is not as bad as robbing a bank; or there's no real harm in telling a little white lie...even though we've been taught as children sitting on grandma's lap; "Thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor..." (Exodus 20:15-16)

Let's be clear about one thing; the apostle Paul wrote in Romans 6:23-"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

In the eyes of God "All Sin" is rated on the same level and is subjected to the same consequences.
We cannot separate or over-look one from the other; this one doesn't out-weigh that one they are all one in the same and all lead to the destruction of our souls. God see's and knows all; there is nothing that can be hid from Him.

One cannot close a blind eye to the couple who are shacking up and not see it as fornication, nor can one point a judgmental finger at homosexuality and simply breeze past those who are committing adultery. It is so easy to not see what we label as little sins when our attention is so focused on what we've determined as being outlandish and so wrong.

Truth of the matter is that God hates all manner of sin; the very scent of it leaves a stench in His nostrils... When we are so ready and willing to point out the shortcomings of others, it stands to reason that we've already overlooked our own faults and never recognize them as being major issues that will at some point lead to our spiritual demise.

Jesus said in Matthew 7:4-5..."...how wilt thou say to thy brother, let me pull the mote out of thine eye; and behold, a beam is in thine own eye. Thou hypocrite, first cast the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast the mote out of thy brothers eye..."

This is not accomplished by hurling accusations, but by living a life in which Christ can be revealed in us. It is foolish to think of ourselves as strong and big in the Lord when we can't see the little things that separate us from God.

Always remember; when we abide in the True Vine we can't be spoiled by the little foxes that come along. It is our responsibility to resist all the deeds of the flesh and walk in the Spirit. By doing so we not only sweep clean these body's which house our spirit man, but we also move one step closer to gaining eternal life.....exactly as promised.

"LIVING THE BLESSED LIFE"

I’m certain we all can agree that in this day and age; all of mankind is consumed by many issues in life… Our personal & financial status, our levels of education, mortgage and rent, marital status and marriage problems; political and racial issues just to name a few.

What boggles my mind is this; as children of the only true and living God we tend to allow each of these issues and more to dictate how we function in the Kingdom of God, even to the point of overlooking, forgetting, and neglecting the promises of God.

How is it that today’s Christian is so good at quoting scripture and cliches that we have difficulty living?

We say it loud and we say it proud…we can quote it well but fall very short when it comes to applying what we quote and truly representing each cliche…

To be Blessed is often defined in the mouths of every believer as gaining wealth and material things; but Blessed is often mis-understood because it is a word with so many different implications.

Psalms 1:1-3 describes the blessed person in this manner:

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

The first verse refers to association…It is a very known fact that who we associate with and listen to speaks volumes about who we are and what we become.

In reading this particular Psalm we find here that Godly wisdom declares the final outcome of two ways:

The way that sinners take and the way of the righteous.

The psalmist develops three differences that set the righteous apart from the wicked:

(1) He refers to their “way” of life

(2) He speaks of their life condition they experience (“like a tree,” “like chaff,” )

(3) He climatically points to God’s judgment on their different ways:

It is very possible to be transformed by the company we keep whether it’s:

1. Gossip which equals back-biting which equals character
assassination

2. Lasciviousness, lewdness, which can lead us into
fornication and adultery

3.Drug dealing, drug and alcohol abuse, physical abuse
Thug-life, theft, murder which leads to prison life…etc.

You know the old saying…”Birds of a feather flock together”

This psalm reminds the reader that those of us who are seen as the people of God must be characterized by the fact that we delight in God’s revealed will and purpose; but for those who stubbornly choose the way of sinners there is no place in the Kingdom of God.

Take note that the godly behavior referenced in all of the Psalms is a faithful response to God’s written directives for life—which is the path that leads to blessedness.

The apostle James admonished us that if we are only hearers of the word and not doers we deceive only ourselves…

We must always remember that "Living The Blessed Life":

Demands that we as believers are courageous enough to not only stand against the wiles of the Devil, but against the ungodly mandates of this wicked culture, by standing on the word and promises of God

It means that the Word and Spirit of God dwells daily within our hearts so that we demonstrate His word even better than we can quote it

It also means that we keep our minds on the things of God, and live a life that brings glory and honor to Him

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

schizo·phre·nia
: a psychotic disorder characterized by loss of contact with the environment, by noticeable deterioration in the level of functioning in everyday life, and by disintegration of personality expressed as disorder of feeling, thought (as delusions), perception (as hallucinations), and behavior —called also dementia praecox

13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 And they said, some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
15 He saith unto them, but whom say ye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
18 And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Matthew 16:13-19

We live in a society where there seems to be a great demand to make things fit...
It doesn't matter the physics, aerodynamics, height or depth, size or laws; the worlds culture has begun a quest to make all matters and manner of life fit to their specifications.

Everything that's said and done must meet the approval of the "Culture".
Ironically enough, the same can be said for today's moderate church; the script has been flipped to which the church is no longer making disciples for Christ; but are being made disciples into a spiritually lawless and lustful culture where Christ no longer sits on his throne in authority, but in agreement to the whims of a creation whom have lost sight of His sovereignty over all the universe.
Preachers, pastors, and gospel music artist alike are now changing the "Gospel" so that it may fit the lifestyles of the cursed and infamous society which they have come to adopt as their own.
Un-godly living has become a staple in the church-world mostly for the purpose of allowing individuals to feel comfortable in their sin; and also for pulling in mountains of filthy lucre.
One would think that God no longer has a voice in Christendom as if He's decided to abdicate His throne and authority over mankind. While it may be possible to impeach a president or overthrow an earthly monarch, it is very impossible to remove the Creator of "All" manner of life from having dominion.
Adultery, fornication, idolatry, false-doctrine, whore-mongering, homosexuality, lesbianism, lying, stealing, coveting and much-much more are still sinful and in some cases an abomination before God. Jesus has pronounced on many occasions: "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away..." (Matthew 24:35, Mark 13:31, Luke 21:33)
In a nutshell, the wages of sin have not changed, they still bring spiritual, physical, and eternal death!
One fact that I've learned over the years which still holds true today is this: "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" (Numbers 23:19)

It is a fact that we are living in the last days where there is a great falling away from the church and the truth; and yet God has not lost His mind over this, He prophesied in His word that these things would come to pass.
For those preachers and pastors, leaders and artist who scatter and deceive the flock of God with their lies and lust for the accursed thing, the word of God comes to you in this manner: “What sorrow awaits this worthless shepherd who abandons the flock! The sword will cut his arm and pierce his right eye. His arm will become useless, and his right eye completely blind.” (Zachariah 11:17 NLT)

Though you may be riding the waves of sins success today, the end of what seemeth right in your eyes will lead to certain death. Simply changing the manner in-which you've chosen to live and believe has no bearing on who God was, and is, and is to come: just remember that Jesus Christ remains the same yesterday, today, and forever.

While the world, the church, and you may be schizophrenic, God is still God, His word still stands; and He's not crazy.

"The Principle Before The Promise"

I grew up with a father who left no stone unturned when it came to demonstrating his love for his children. I recall a time one year at Christmas when we were very young; our father knowingly went into debt just to ensure that we had the best Christmas ever. Not only did we receive all that we asked for; but dad surprised us by adding a few extras under the tree that we never expected, nor did we deserve them.

Dad was also a very stern disciplinarian who said what he meant, and meant what he said. Disobedience brought about repercussions resulting in his "sparing not the rod", or some type of punishment; in many cases both.

At other times; if he gave a promise to us based on a request that we made, there was always the understanding that the promise was contingent upon our obedience to carry out and complete the principle.

Fathers are some of the most amazing and unusual individuals; amazing in how they can set their sights on a certain goal, and no matter the obstacles or consequences, remain focused to achieve the objective. They are unusual in that when they establish rules or principles; they have the integrity to enforce them regardless of what others may think or feel about it. This particular characteristic does not mean that fathers are cold-hearted people who lack the ability to love unconditionally; quite the contrary, fathers love so deeply that when they apply a lesson in discipline it's done to protect us from having to face damaging consequences and reciprocates after we've reached the age of accountability.

In John 15:1-10 Jesus says: "1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth that it may bring forth more fruit. 3 Now ye are clean through through the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in His love."

It seems as though many Christians today view God as a spiritual Santa Claus or Genie in a bottle, believing that He will simply give them what they want just because they asked; well, it doesn't work that way. Lets understand some facts, 1st: Jesus went into debt to bring us a great salvation. It cost the shedding of His blood on the cross for sins that he didn't commit; "our sins". 2nd: He left no stone unturned to gain us access into the Kingdom of God; in fact, three days after being laid in a borrowed tomb Jesus literally rolled t away the stone that was used to keep Him in the grave.

Can you say "No Greater Love?"

We are encouraged as believers to boldly approach the throne of grace and make our petition known to the Father. Yes, we can ask anything of Him and in return Jesus promises to provide whatsoever we ask; but first there is a principle that we must hold fast to: "For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly..." (Psalm 84:11)

It only works when we put the principle before the promise.

The Gospel…”It’s Not For Entertainment”

1 Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; 2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. 3 BUT IF OUR GOSPEL BE HID, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2nd Corinthians 4:1-6
So let me ask you a question: "What Is The Gospel?"
In every account that I've ever heard or read of the Gospel; (Matthew,Mark, Luke and John) it chronicles the ministry, mission, the person, deity and life of Jesus The Christ. Those of us who are His disciples have been charged to share this Gospel with the entire world.
This Anointed Gospel is the means by which many have surrendered their lives to Christ; the one and only living God and creator of all things.
Here is the real point that I want to make, and I already know that so many will disagree; but I'm going all the way in anyhow...
When we take the word "Gospel" and compound it with anything else but truth, we make it a watered-down myth. The Gospel alone says to me that the life of Christ is about to be shared so that the lost can hear it and therefore be saved. It says to me that those who have already accepted Him are encouraged to strive on by following Kingdom principles thereby causing even more souls to hear and accept all that is contained in The Gospel.
About at this point I'm going to be labeled a prude, but so be it.
I don't mind Gospel music if the motive behind it is simply to share the good news of Jesus The Christ and sing the praises of our God. The Gospel was never designed to entertain us. There was nothing entertaining about our Savior and Lord being battered and abused into non-recognition. There was absolutely nothing entertaining about Him being nailed to a tree carrying the sins of every generation to come.
And while we rejoice over the fact that He "Jesus", although He died, He also resurrected with All Power in His hands, defeating death, hell, and the grave; we understand very clearly that He never came into this world for the sake of "ENTERTAINING" what and who He created. I'm fed up with Gospel Entertainment. We need to return our focus to Gospel Sharing.
Ezekiel 3:18 -When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. (Ref. Ezekiel 33:8)

Step - By - Step

Hollywood is at it again...they are showing the movie titled "Exodus".
While the cinematography and such may be an awesome sight to behold there's the tendency for a movie of this magnitude to be so far off target from scripture that it causes the viewer to lose sight of God's purpose for His people both then, and now. So let's conduct a brief recap...

We learn from scripture that Israel was under cruel bo***ge of Egyptian taskmasters and their Pharaoh for a span of about 400 - 430 years... (ref. Genesis 15:13 & Exodus 12:40)

God having witnessed their hardship promised a deliverer and after drawing Moses to Mt. Sinai, spoke to him from a burning bush with instructions for freeing and leading His people into the promised land and in doing so, relieved Israel from many years of suffering.

However; freedom didn't mean that there wouldn't be struggles along the way...There were yet be many mountains to climb, many battles to fight, and enemies to conqueror from within and without the camp. But God would continue to prove Himself to His people in many facets while keeping His promise...

You and I face so many trials and struggles daily in our own right. The old saints had a saying: "Sometimes up, Sometimes down, Sometimes leveled to the ground..." but through all of those ups and downs we find that no matter how stuck we feel in our situations, God still holds true to His promise to never leave or forsake us; forever ordering each of the steps we take...

Psalm 66:1-12 reads

1 Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:
2 Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.
3 Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.
4 All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.
5 Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.
6 He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him.
7 He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.
8 O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:
9 Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.
10 For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
11 Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins.
12 Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: "BUT THOU BROUGHTEST US OUT INTO A WEALTHY PLACE."

In other words, we may not be in the position that we ought to be or where we want to be, but thanks be to God we're not where we used to be. Therefore regardless of our current state, we can find contentment in knowing that for every test and trial we've gone through and have yet to go through; God is still leading us into greener pastures: Step - By - Step...

Sub-con-scious:

1 adjective - existing in the mind but not immediately available to consciousness /a subconscious motive

2 noun - the mental activities just below the threshold of consciousness - that part of a person's mind which has ideas, feelings, etc., that the person is not aware of...

When I was an elementary school student I remember hearing many of our teachers say that "an idle mind is the Devil's workshop"..... for many years I didn't really understand the meaning of that statement. Never-the-less, as I grew older I would encounter dreams that felt so real and sometimes frightening, while other times I'd have thoughts that seemed to bring on anger and yet provide results that delivered an eerie satisfying relief.

On the other hand I've also had thoughts and dreams that were of a vial and wicked nature bringing with them a dual affect.

The one common denominator contained within each, is that they seemed to just spring up from nowhere... I call those times;

"The Suddenness's Of Life"

For instance, have you ever witnessed a friend or loved one having something that you desired for yourself but couldn't afford? All of a sudden you become overwhelmingly envious of that individual and begin to wish for evil to come against them?

Have you ever dreamed or thought of causing harm to someone that you're around everyday; perhaps a co-worker, classmate, or family member? Ever have that feeling of invincibility and thought you could commit wicked acts against another person and feel that once it's done you'll be relieved? Then all of a sudden you question where that idea originated?

6 Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:
7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. 8 The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words.
Proverbs 23:6-8

The mind that lacks a measure of concentration on Christ will almost, always slip into the darkness of idleness...having an idle mind is equivalent to starting a car with the idea of going somewhere, but instead just letting it sit in the driveway with the engine running; that car is simply wasting precious gasoline and ultimately the car will go no place....

In the same manner, when we neglect to protect our heart with the word of God, our mind is left defenseless against the tricks and suggestions of Satan. The real problem here is that the believer becomes so vulnerable to the wiles of the Devil, he/she never realizes they even have these feelings and urges lodged deep within the recesses their soul.

Only a continual washing by the water of the word of God can the modern day disciple avoid the pitfalls and snares laid down by a very cunning enemy.

Psalm 119:11 states: "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee..."

Knowing that the word of God is also recognized as "The Sword of the Spirit" we understand that even in our sleep we are more than able to combat spiritual wickedness in high places.

"HOWEVER";

You must also apply preventive maintenance to your spirit-man by monitoring what you download into your thought process. Your mind is a computer that is fed data all day long, and the thoughts that you save to your mental hard drive will ultimately play out in your actions... actions which will be out of character for you.

"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." Psalm 139:14

In order to win the battles that rage in our minds we must ensure that our thoughts while awake are always on the precepts and commandments found in Gods' word; then will we not only learn and know His heart, but we will secure our hearts and become more like Jesus.

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." Philippians 4:6-8

Remember: Keeping your mind stayed on Jesus, will bring you into perfect peace with the Father...

Simply Put....

The Personality of The Holy Spirit

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
John 14:26

Exactly what are the qualifications of a person?

For starters, a real life person has a mind, is able to think and act upon their thoughts. A person has his/her own will and self identity. A person also has emotions, and are able to act cognitively.

Human beings have all of these qualities and more.

So what about the Holy Spirit, does He possess any of these same qualities? The answer is a resounding "YES"!

1. The Holy Spirit is a thinker; He has a mind of His own that functions/operates in concert with the "Godhead"

2. He has His own identity that while it distinguishes Him from the Father and the Son; it does not hinder or interfere with His being "One" with them.

3. He does have emotions and the ability to act upon them

4. He also has very distinguishing characteristics:
- Love
- Joy
- Peace
- Longsuffering
- Gentleness
- Goodness
- Faith
- Meekness
- Temperance

The Holy Spirit is "NOT" just some impersonal force, as some religious doctrines would like you to believe.

When referring to the Holy Spirit we must be very careful not to identify Him as an "it" or a "thing"...He is a real life person whose abilities and power are very vital to God the Father and the Son; His characteristics are also very important in the lives of all who name the name of Jesus.

"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you." John 16:7

I'm not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, I'm not ashamed of being a child of the Most High God, not even in these last and evil days; and most of all I'm not ashamed of the Holy Spirit guiding and governing my life..."For every time I feel Him moving in my heart, I will pray, praise, and sing of His awesome power.
