Philadelphia 48 Hour Film Project The 48 Hour Film Project will return to Philadelphia in 2021.

A wild and sleepless weekend in which teams compete to make the best short film in 48 hours, using a genre and three required elements, then see it premiered in the local cinema. Filmmakers from all over the Philadelphia area will compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films
from around the world for the title "Best 48 Hour Film of 2021".

The Best Film from each competition goes to Filmapalooza in Curaçao, competing for Best Special Genre Film and a spot in our Short Film Corner screening at the Cannes Film Festival!

Registration is OPEN NOW and spots are limited to 48 teams per competition!

That’s a wrap on the 2026 Philadelphia 48 Hour Film Project Premiere Screening! 🎬✨

On Tuesday, August 11, we celebrated the incredible filmmakers who took on the challenge of writing, shooting, and completing a film in just 48 hours.

Thank you to all of the filmmakers, volunteers, judges, partners, friends, and supporters who helped make this year’s premiere such a success. We are so proud of everything our Philadelphia filmmaking community created!
