Jo Shen is an Emmy-winning Chinese American director who creates tender, resonant worlds through capturing the seemingly ordinary moments of life. Led by her nuanced sensibility, her visual storytelling draws out the emotional intimacy and tensions that hide beneath the surface. Next up on the roster is Vanessa Pla!

Vanessa is a self-taught Latinx independent director whose work extends itself nationwide. Known for telling surreal and colorful stories, Vanessa’s work spans through a wide range of genres and clients. Most of her directorial work consists of music videos, since music has played a guiding force throughout the course of her career — and life.  Her favorite stories are those that highlight authenticity and bring color to the mundane.  Pla can create unique and captivating modern imagery while pulling inspiration from older cinema palettes and vintage motifs.  Each project calls for its own unique approach, but what stays constant is her need to push boundaries and challenge perspectives both literally and metaphorically.

Today, Maestro turns 21 years old and the teal T-Rex has come back to help us celebrate! 

When we look back over the last two decades, the one word we can sum it all up with is: resilience. The ability to adapt, evolve, and reinvent while staying rooted in the kind of work that feels honest and human.

This past year especially has reminded us that longevity isn’t about standing still. It’s about continuing to learn, refine, take risks, and stay creatively curious even when the landscape changes around you.

We’re deeply grateful to every client, collaborator, crew member, artist, partner, and friend who has trusted us along the way. So much of who we are has been shaped by the people we’ve had the privilege to create with and the culture we’ve built and 21 years in, the love and craft of storytelling is still the thing that drives us most.

Next up on The Roster is !

Emmy Award-winner Kyra Knox is a director and producer celebrated for her powerful storytelling. Her directorial debut, Bad Things Happen In Philadelphia, was executive produced by Allen Iverson.

Since transitioning from a full-time job, she has directed projects for Visit Philly (featuring Patti LaBelle), the Philadelphia Eagles, Johnson & Johnson, and Chevrolet. Kyra, a 2023 Sundance Intensive Producer Fellow and a 2024 Sundance Advisor, was a Story Producer for the Steph Curry executive produced docu-series Spirit on Peacock. Her work has earned numerous accolades, including an Emmy Award, Producer of the Year, seven Shorty Impact Awards, eleven Telly Awards, four Communicator Awards, two Addys, and two Mosaic Awards. She is known for her infectious enthusiasm and commitment to a safe, collaborative set.
