Widespread storms will develop Thursday afternoon and continue through the night. Isolated wind damage is possible in the afternoon and early evening hours. We are becoming increasingly concerned about flash flooding potential with this activity, particularly across the Moderate Risk area.

There is increasing confidence in a highly localized area of heavy rain (as much as 4-6 inches) along the I-95 corridor from around Philly to Trenton this afternoon/evening. While not everybody in this area will experience that rainfall, those that do can expect flash flooding.

Make sure to have a way to receive any warnings that are issued, and follow them closely.

Good afternoon! We're starting to get a little bit more smoke starting to filter back in as of late this afternoon and unfortunately tomorrow looks to be a return to the smokier, "milkier" looking sky we had yesterday. The graphic here shows visible satellite as of about 4 PM this afternoon and if you look closely you can make out that there's an area of thicker smoke to our west over the Great Lakes. This will move to the east and southeast arriving in the mid Atlantic for Tuesday.

The image in the lower right is a model forecast for smoke conditions at 7 AM tomorrow morning. The "warm colors", the brighter oranges and red, indicate thicker smoke. Fortunately, the smoke should be mostly aloft but we can't rule out that some of it will make its way to the lower levels impacting air quality and visibility.

As always, complete forecast information can be found at weather.gov/phi.
