Winter Storm Watches are now in effect for much of the region for Sunday into Monday, with the bulk of the storm occurring Sunday night into early Monday. Widespread snowfall of 5 or more inches is possible. More details to follow.

Some light rain and snow is expected for tonight, producing minor accumulations over the northern half of the area. Further south towards Philly, more of a rain/snow mix cuts into any accumulation. Areas of South Jersey and Delmarva likely stay all rain.

We've created a graphic that's more focused on our area regarding the weekend storm potential. The bottom line is that there's still a lot of uncertainty with this system. Generally speaking, the latest trends in forecast guidance are favoring a track farther east meaning impacts may be confined largely to coastal areas. However that could easily still change.

The graphic essentially is depicting the chances for Winter Storm Warning level impacts at any given point. As you can see, chances for 5 inches of snow or more are generally in the 30 to 40 percent range near and S/E of the urban corridor diminishing to around 20 percent in the Poconos.

Timing would be late Saturday into Sunday.

⚠️❄️🧊 The forecast for Sunday's winter storm has been updated. Snowfall amounts have trended down slightly, but ice amounts have trended up slightly for some areas. Regardless of exactly how much snow falls, our message is the same: Significant impacts are expected for our entire area!

Snow will begin after midnight late Saturday night into early Sunday morning. The peak of the storm and heaviest precip will occur during the daytime Sunday into Sunday evening, then wind down into Monday morning. A Winter Storm Warning is now in effect for our entire region. Very cold conditions expected through next weekend.
