I asked him where he was from. We started talking.
Meanwhile, my sister was finishing a conversation with a couple next to us.

She turned around, saw what was happening… and immediately stepped in.

“What’s your name?”
“Blondy.”
“Are you married?”
“No.”
“Do you have kids?”
“No, I’m not married.”

« Take my sister’s number, you guys going on a date tomorrow, pick her up at 7pm »

Christie was on fire ! I was so embarrassed 😂
But God clearly had a plan.

• Testimony Part 2/4 •
When we arrived at the Shine Gospel Awards, we realized—far too late—that we hadn’t properly checked the ticket. The dress code was Black Tie, and there I was, wearing sneakers 🥹.

The men were in tuxedos, the women in breathtaking gala gowns—feathers, sparkling fabrics, dramatic trains. It felt as though we had stepped into a royal wedding. The Shine Gospel Awards were beyond anything I could have imagined. We truly had the best night.

By the end of the evening, we started chatting with the people around our seats, taking a few selfies, soaking in the moment. Just as we were about to leave, I noticed a tall man walking toward me. Our eyes met briefly. I went back to my conversation, but when I turned to my right… he was there, standing right next to me.
The first thing this man said to me was: « How tall are you ? » 😅 (to be continued)

Humbled and honoured to be featured in a truly special and personal piece by and .robertson . Thank you for capturing and sharing the very essence, heart and joy of the wedding day.

A partnership deeply rooted in love and heritage. When I started thinking about the dress I wanted to design I thought no further than Torlowei.

Folds of fabric nodding to the Atlantic waves between my countries of origin and highlighting the waters in the creeks of my maternal homeland - the Niger Delta in Nigeria - this dress was a journey of fairytales.

Once the detachable train was removed a cornucopia was revealed on the back of the dress filled with a bouquet of Torlowei’s signature tulips; hand stitched in live time by Ms Patience Torlowei herself. She decided to include this to represent the abundance of joy, love and blessings woven into the union.

I can’t thank you enough for bringing my vision to life and showcasing the beauty of wearable art.
