✨ introducing ingrid Raphaël as Video Portraits Videographer and Editor ✨

As a part of our Fallawayinto production, on a cold wintery weekend in December at a West Philadelphia Church, our wonderful videographer, Ingrid Raphael, filmed our Video Portraits of Black trans women and their personal altars. We want to thank Evangeline Brooks, Muteba Tshinabu wa Munda, Monica Rivera, Phoebe Van Cleefe, Savan De Paul and Khadijah Rose for being a part of the video portraits. It was wonderful to be in this intimate space with them as well as getting to know why they’ve chosen the objects, significance for the creations of their altars, and what the altars represent. We were delighted with some surprising gifts in the process that we are so excited for you to see. Shoutout to Ingrid Raphaël‘s brilliant approach to videography, you all are in for a treat when it comes to the end results of our process.

✨ introducing Donna Nicole Booker, Commissioner and Visionary Spirit ✨

This is Donna Nicole Booker (1963 - 2006-and on and on), our Black Trans woman ancestor, she is the center of Fallwayinto, the reason why this multimedia play exists. Donna Nicole Booker, living in the divine flight between Waukegan, Il and the San Francisco Bay Area, was an artist, activist, s*x worker, evangelist and theologian who made of her body and life - a sanctuary. Her spirit continues to guide us, move us into the different portals that Fallawayinto unfolds as. Fallawayinto is an iterative play and performance ritual aspiring to the divine forms of her spirit and life. We want to thank her for commissioning this work and for journeying with us through all the many iterations, forms and possibilities her stories hold.
