Join us for an evening walk to witness one of the most remarkable signs of spring, the display of the American Woodcock. The walk will end by (hopefully!) watching the remarkable courtship dance and song of this secretive bird. There are 4 Woodcock Walks that you can attend, all at Crossways Preserve. The first one is March 1 at 6pm. Register online:

I thought this picture was fake when I first saw it. Looks like 1921 instead of 2021.
Smoke and Mirrors: Biden’s Vaccine Mandate Doesn’t Actually Exist
That’s me. 1999.
I was 19.
The first sophomore elected Student Government President at Morehouse in over 50 years.
In the 5 years before this picture was taken I had been:
Shot at
Spat on
Chased in a pickup truck and nearly run over
Called a nigger
And beaten so badly that I missed 2 years of high school recovering from 3 spinal surgeries
I arrived at Morehouse in August of 1997 having endured and overcome more trauma than anybody my age, or any age, ever should’ve endured.
I had about $40 to my name.
And a dream.
That I would one day be a leader for my people.
That I would provide hope to those who were hopeless.
That I would help find justice for those who had been wronged.
That I would confront bullies and bad men with my words and actions.
That I would I see good in people that others had abandoned.
That I would become a man fit to be a husband and a father unlike anything I saw growing up.
That children and families who had been harmed by injustice might know my name and believe that I would somehow find a way to help them.
By the time I took this photo, I already felt a heavy burden for what my future would become. God had given me glimpses into why I had experienced so much pain. And how it would one day all make sense.
This past year I’ve hardly left my family’s side. And it has allowed me to see more clearly into my future, our future. And it has even allowed me to heal from a lot of the pain of my past. Not all of it. But some of it.
And I’m encouraged about what’s ahead.
Love y’all.
Shaun

The Fraternal Order of White Supremacy
Murderer Kyle Rittenhouse is being financially supported by various law enforcement agencies. It's the latest in several cases in which systemic racism protects boots-on-the-grounds supremacists.

This is a uniquely Black experience and I need all of the white people who follow me to watch every second of this video.
This is a proud Black man at the mall, Lynnhaven Mall in Virginia Beach, when police literally come up to this Black man while he’s eating a meal with his family, and put him in handcuffs for a crime he HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH.
After humiliating him in front of his family and the whole damn mall, they realize they have the wrong man, and just let him go.
This doesn’t happen to white men at the mall. Period.
This family needs to sue the racist ass police department there in Virginia Beach for this. But that’s not enough. This sh*t has to stop.

Refuse Fascism
The Fascist-in-Chief, running a campaign glorifying the confederacy and the klan, theocratic “family values” and manifest destiny is coming to Philadelphia on September 15 for a town hall hosted by ABC News. Our power is in the street and everyone who can should hit the streets demanding “Trump/Pence Out Now!” or find a way to actively support those who are. It’s up to all of us.
Trump’s event will start at 9 at the Constitution Center. At 7, we will gather to commemorate those murdered by white supremacists emboldened by this regime in El Paso, Pittsburgh and beyond, alongside the heroes murdered while standing up for justice at the hands of Trumps thugs. At 8, the protest begins, boldly and loudly raising the demand: Trump/Pence Out Now alongside every demand for meaningful justice, every struggle that this regime stands directly in the way of.
https://www.facebook.com/events/347244823348373
This can’t be a one-time event, this should be part of growing protests nationwide to drive this regime out before its too late.
We are at a “stop everything” moment in history.
The Trump/Pence regime is on a trajectory to consolidate fascist rule and hammer in a nightmare for humanity.
If every attempt by the regime to subvert the election, to repress protest, to implement new fascist measures is met with growing numbers demanding Trump/Pence OUT NOW! we could force a different political equation going into November, constraining Trump’s ability to easily postpone or subvert the election.
If masses of people are already in the streets during these 60 days, and the regime attempts to challenge or dismiss the results, we would be a people organized and mobilized to act in defiance that this not go down. And, if we increasingly tap into and mobilize the deeply held desire of millions to see the ouster of the fascist Trump/Pence regime, no one can say how far this can go or how fast.
Will it be said, when facing an American fascism in the most powerful country in history, that people here could not put aside their differences to stop a great horror? Or will history tell that people rose, as many acting together, and stopped a great horror?

I want to thank Frank Reich, head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, for being the only player or coach in his game today to take a knee. All summer long he has made it clear that racial injustice disturbs his soul. Grateful for his leadership today.

Moments ago the primary officer that brutally beat Roderick Walker in front of his kids in Georgia was just fired. He should now be arrested and charged with criminal assault. What he did wasn’t just wrong, it was illegal.

Same video from another angle.
They beat and mauled this young Black man in front of his kids. AGAIN - show me the video of police doing this to ANY white man in front of his kids. It just doesn't happen. I was going to say that you'd think that this Black man had just murdered somebody, but American police don't even treat white men who just murdered people like this. This type of brutality is most often reserved for unarmed, non-violent Black men who did next to nothing wrong - other than offend the sensibilities of white people - which in this country - is the one thing that can really get you mauled like this.
See - when white people kill people - say what Dylann Roof did - it still didn't deeply offend the sensibilities of the white police who arrested him - so they got him a burger and he didn't have a scratch on him.
BUT THIS MAN.

I‘m honored to be in this HISTORIC music documentary created by the incredibly multi-talented Tyrese Gibson and Deon Taylor, and feat. CeeLo Green. This is a powerful message to future generations telling them that we spoke TRUTH to POWER when George Floyd and Breonna Taylor were taken away from us by the people who were suppose to protect and serve us.
100% of the proceeds from ‘Legendary’ aka ‘8:46’ will go to families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Trayvon Martin, and Eric Garner, and the 17yo girl who shot the footage of Floyd's murder and is living in isolation in fear of her life.
