In 2020 we put out a record that we all thought, while in the studio, hearing it with those big ol' studio speakers, was our best yet.. However, the mix of a record can either make or break it. The original mix was somewhat rushed and as time went on, it became a throw away album of songs we would rarely play live.. 5 years later, Perry Leenhouts at Point Break Sound takes a shot at the mix. We gave him the files and the free rein to do what he felt best.. and we feel he made this album "Renacido" (Reborn).

Today is the 30th anniversary of our release of Amazing & Thank You. Glenn shared a reflection from when it came out:

According to Wikipedia, today is the 30th anniversary of the release of the first Luxury album, Amazing and Thank You. I could tell you the stories about signing our record deal or the recording of the record. There is a really good movie out that covers some of that ground. If you haven't seen it yet, you really should take the time to do so. That first record was pretty monumental for me. All the dreams of being a rock star, all the different bands that never quite came together - finally I had physical evidence that all those dreams and and efforts were worth it. I really had no idea if people liked the record, but I thought it was cool and I was proud of what we had accomplished. Some of the copies I gave out were not to people that I thought would love the album, but to people that I hoped would be proud of our accomplishment. Like a little kid bringing home a paper that might go up on the refrigerator. The record did nothing to change our economic status. I was still working in the electronics department at Wal-Mart. When the album came in to the store with the rest of the CDs, our store manager had me bring it up to our morning meeting and show it off. Everyone was excited and proud. They clapped. We had no way of knowing what was ahead of us, but for a while, all the times that I said "I'm working at Wal-Mart and playing in a band" had been validated. We toured, playing to people who seemed to dig us. People asked for my autograph. That is living the dream. So, thank you to my wonderful wife, who probably didn't really realize exactly what she was getting in to. Thank you to my band mates for tolerating an exceptionally loud drummer. Thanks to Tooth & Nail Records for taking a risk on us. Thanks to everyone who bought the record and found that it was just right.

Two songs from the soon to be released epic (and we mean EPIC) remix of Mu**to, Carcel O' Rocanrol (retitled as Mu**to Carcel O' Rocanrol Renacido!) are now available as a two song ep entitled 'Breakup Songs'. These two tracks will NOT be on the full length vinyl (due to space). If you've heard them before, listen again...it won't hurt you and we are SUPER proud.

Why did we remix the Mu**to album?

While we loved the rough and ready feel of the original release, over time we realized that we didn't quite get it right. Once we heard what Perry did with our Travoltas split tracks, we longed to have Mu**to sound as good. Ultimately, we decided to enlist him again to see what he could do with the album. We were floored to say the least. We came away knowing that not only was this album some of our best writing and performances to date, it now is undeniably our best SOUNDING album to date.

Mu**to, Carcel, O Rocanrol Renacido will be out in a few months as a 3-way split vinyl release through Burnt Toast Vinyl, Striped Music, and Mom’s Basement Records. It'll be out digitally through all the usual outlets as well. Once we get a firm release date, we'll be sure to announce it here on our page.
