Our Story
G-town Radio is now WGGT-LP and can be heard on 92.9 FM in Northwest Philadelphia. Originally a community internet radio station, G-town Radio can still be heard 24 hours a day over the internet. Since January, 2018 we are one of three radio partners in Germantown that can be heard on 92.9 FM every Wednesday through Sunday.
We are located in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. Our mission is to be an exceptional outlet for local content, community news, and a diverse spectrum of music. We strive to broadcast sounds, ideas, and talk not found on mainstream media. It is our belief that a strong community is one that offers a platform for neighbors, community members and listeners to share news and generate discussion on topics that impact our neighborhood, our city and the world.
G-town Radio is a tax exempt non-profit (501(c)3). Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. All money goes directly into creating more and better programming. To make a donation visit the Donate page of our website. Learn more about G-town Radio in the Press section of our site.

I picked up a Blue Note box set titled “One Night with Blue Note” Preserved. It contains a concert presented at Town Hall, NYC in February of 1985 which relaunched the historic label after years of dormancy. Tonight, in addition to selections from this concert – Herbie Hancock, Art Blakey, McCoy Tyner and others - we’ll explore other live recordings from Town Hall. Artists include: Louis Armstrong, Thelonious Monk, Nina Simone, Ornette Coleman, Bill Evans, Sara Vaughn, Cecil Taylor and others, all live from Town Hall.
