Rethinking "Self-Care" by The Everyday Feminist

Lois and Stephanie are tired of hearing women be told to take care of themselves. So they made a show about it.

In the US today, women are frequently instructed (often with good intentions) to take better care of themselves. In this episode, hosts Lois and Stephanie break-down the concept of "self-care": is it a helpful suggestion and sign of support, or is it an impossible capitalistic Western oxymoron? Chec...

Could a lawsuit over Coltrane House hinder museum plans?

Long but compelling "Tangled Title" profile -- “While I believe Ravi Coltrane and Oran Coltrane have a rightful claim to the property, the case will finally untie the ‘tangled title.’ Without clear title, access to government and foundation grants to rehabilitate the National Historic Landmark is limited.

Ravi and Oran Coltrane have sued to claim ownership of the John Coltrane House, which Strawberry Mansion community leaders plan to restore as a museum.

What’s so Cool About Manufacturing? Well, the state has a competition for middle schoolers to partner with their companies and make videos to tell you. Gary Hines of Germantown seeks teachers and administrators interested in growing this competition. He’ll cover why and how PA’s promoting jobs in manufacturing - hint, they need workers. FYI - Philly has 100 of these companies – who knew?! Hear Gary on VANESSA'S MONEY HOUR, Saturday at 1:00pm EST on gtownradio.com.

The What’s So Cool About Manufacturing contest continues to grow and spark interest from companies and educational institutions who want to share what they do and raise awareness of the value a manufacturing career offers.
