Over the weekend, we lost a dear, longtime member of the Baker family. Though best known as a DJ and co-founder of the Philly Folk Festival, Gene Shay was also a talented copywriter, ad producer, and voiceover artist. A fixture at Baker, Gene penned and produced well-known spots for Silo, First Pennsylvania Bank, National Night Out, and, of course, his beloved Folk Festival. Gene was a kind and gentle spirit who delighted us with his humor, amazed us with his magic, and inspired us with his creativity. He will be sorely missed, and fondly remembered.
