EDITORIAL/Charlie Kirk's legacy | Charlie Kirk’s assassination has left a wound in the heart of our country. Yet, even in this time of sorrow, his legacy calls us not to retreat in fear or silence, but to step forward with conviction, courage, and the faith he exemplified. Kirk believed deeply in the power of young Americans and people of faith to restore and renew our nation through Christ-centered values, bold leadership, and uncompromising commitment to truth. That mission is now ours to carry forward.

Charlie Kirk’s assassination has left a wound in the heart of our country. Yet, even in this time of sorrow, his legacy calls us not to retreat in fear or silence, but to step forward with conviction, courage, and the faith he exemplified.

The Mississippi National Guard has issued a statement regarding the helicopters at the Neshoba County Fair on Tuesday morning.

At around 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2025, two UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters flown by the Mississippi National Guard landed in the designated landing zone at the center of the Neshoba County Fair racetrack. Due to circumstances currently being reviewed and investigated by the MSNG, initial reports indicate the aircraft rotor wash caused a disturbance near the southwest portion of the racetrack.
The Mississippi National Guard sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience and disturbance.

For many years, the Mississippi National Guard has participated in the Neshoba County Fair’s annual military and veterans event. Each year, we are humbled by the hospitality, patriotism, and kindness shown by fairgoers and the citizens of Neshoba County. The Mississippi National Guard thanks the Neshoba County Fair for its perennial love and support and we look forward to continuing the partnership between the Neshoba County Fair Association and the members of our organization.
