While multiple people close to the situation had previously stated or speculated that an official pardon request had been submitted and Trump himself had said Combs asked for clemency — Thursday's report marks the first official confirmation that a letter exists.
As we reported, Diddy is currently serving a 50-month federal prison sentence on prostitution-related charges.

His projected release date is May 8, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. During the interview, Trump told reporters that Combs had "asked me for a pardon" and that the request came "through a letter." Trump added that he offered to show the letter to reporters but did not ultimately do so, reiterating that he was not considering the request. If you recall, Trump and Diddy were acquainted before Trump's first presidential run in 2015, though the president has since suggested their relationship later became strained.

California is rolling out a targeted, city-limited automated speed-enforcement pilot that allows certain local governments to use speed cameras to issue civil penalties for speeding. The program comes from Assembly Bill 645 (AB 645), which created a
"speed safety system" pilot program in the state Vehicle Code.

A pilot program limited to specific cities
AB 645 does not authorize speed cameras everywhere in California. Instead, it limits the pilot to six participating jurisdictions: Los Angeles, San Jose, Oakland, Glendale, Long Beach, and San Francisco.

Each participating city can choose whether (and how) to implement the program—meaning timelines, camera placement, and rollout details can vary by city.

The legislation describes a "speed safety system" as an automated device (fixed or mobile) that uses technologies such as radar or laser to detect speeding violations and capture images tied to enforcement— typically focused on a vehicle's license plate rather than the driver's face.
