Disclosure: I’m learning a lot on this journey, and one thing I learned is that focusing on the message is more important than focusing on who said it. The quotes I share are from famous people, but I’ve decided to remove the names to keep the conversation centered on the wisdom, not the person. Thanks for understanding.

If you’ve ever had a peek inside my brain, you know this is a perfect metaphor. There are a thousand thoughts, ideas, to-do lists, and worries running at once. My mind is a mess of open tabs—school, comedy, work, my finances, the past, the future.
The rebuild for me is about learning to close some of those tabs. It’s about being intentional with my focus, one task at a time. I'm still working on it every day, but I'm getting better at finding the “exit” button.

What's a tab you're closing today?

This pretty much sums up what goes on inside my brain on any given day. With school, work, and all the things I'm trying to rebuild, it's easy to get overwhelmed. But I'm learning to embrace the chaos and find the humor in it. Some days, it's a blessing that my brain only holds onto a few problems at once. It forces me to focus on what matters most in the moment.
What's a problem you're happy to forget about today?

I'm living proof of this. I used to think I was too old, too far gone, or that my brain was just hard-wired to be the way it was. But going back to school at 51 and embarking on this journey to become a social worker has shown me that's just not true.
Every day, as I learn new things and build new habits, I can feel my brain rewiring itself. The rebuild is real. And it's never, ever too late to start.

I’m on a journey to a better life, and I’m realizing that simply “earning money” isn’t enough. For a long time, I had money, but I wasn't wise with it. The rebuild isn't just about getting sober or finding a new career; it’s about making smarter choices every single day. This quote from Brigham Young is a reminder to me that true progress is in learning how to build something with what you have.

may never own an Aston Martin! However, I have friends who own Aston Martin’s and will let me take gratuitous glamour shots that I can post on social media to satisfy my ego's needs! Thank you, Craig, and God bless Scottsdale, Arizona!

This is one of the biggest lessons I'm learning on my journey to financial wisdom. It's a reminder that true wealth isn't about chasing quick wins or the latest trends. It's about making smart, patient decisions that build over time.

It’s time to stop fighting who you are and start building on it.

This quote isn't just for people with ADHD. We all have moments where our ambition outpaces our discipline, our emotions outpace our control, or our energy outpaces our focus. The message here is universal: the key to moving forward isn't just about stepping on the gas; it's about learning to slow down and steer. I really struggle with staying steady with my budget.
What's one "brake" you're strengthening today?
