I could cry 😭

For too long, victims of domestic violence have seen their abuse ignored by the law. We are introducing legislation next week to criminalise coercive control with up to 7 years jail.

This action will help protect victims from ongoing patterns of manipulation and control in intimate partner relationships.

The new laws will cover threats, isolation, financial control and monitoring, and be backed by training so police and the community can recognise the signs and better protect victims.

Victoria is one of the last states to act, leaving victims exposed to abuse.

If the Allan Labor Government refuse to back this new law, a future Liberals and Nationals Government will introduce this within our first 100 days. It's time to put victims first.
