πŸ“ My name's Alyssa, and I'm the person behind this page. I wanted to make sure to introduce myself to let you know this page is run by a real human and give you a little more background into the context of this page.

A little about me.... I'm a lifelong 4th-generation resident of Arizona in the US, and I carry a great deal of pride in my state and what my family has done to help shape the communities into what they are today.

I've always been into military history and learning more about wars, heroes and lessons from them. I've typically been more focused on WWII, which is likely because some of my relatives fought in it and would sometimes share stories about their experiences. My Dad also served in the National Guard for 17 years so I was born into "the life" so to speak.

All the photos on this page, unless otherwise noted are a part of the public domain that I've found in places like Flickr, Picryl or other databases. Some are personal family photos I share as well and some might be from those who request that I help with a restoration or colorization. I will always be transparent about where my photos came from, etc.

Please respect the men and women and topics that are a part of this page. I will not allow insensitive, hurtful or rude comments and comments I or Facebook deem as such will be deleted. This is a non-political page in that current events or those from the past shouldn't be discussed.

This is a page of remembrance, respect and honor to those who have served, fought in combat, played vital civilian roles, etc. and many photos you'll see have people that to this day remain unidentified. We always remember the big names of the war such as General Patton or FDR but I also want to bring attention to those who time may forget.

One of my favorite phrases is "Leave No Man Behind," and that is part of my mission with this page. Bring a sense of remembrance to those whose stories aren't so well remembered.

I hope you enjoy my work and if you feel inclined to share please feel free, just please do not remove logos or watermarks and credit me and this page. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please feel free to message me through Messenger anytime.

This is a photo of my Dad, who sadly passed on January 2nd of this year. He served in the Arizona National Guard for 17 years. A large part of why I am starting this page is how much the military has been a part of my life. Showing the human side of war and the armed forces across the world means a lot to me, and may those who have served and died while in combat or remain unknown always be remembered for their stories and memories.

*Please note this is a non-political page and this photo has been restored by me as well as some but minimal use of AI.
