The Greens thought parading Meleys' severed head through King's Landing would prove that dragons could be defeated.

Instead, it may have done something far more dangerous.
For generations, the people of Westeros viewed dragons as near-divine creatures—symbols of Targaryen power, fire made flesh. By dragging the head of the Red Queen through the streets, the Greens showed the realm that dragons could bleed, suffer, and die like anything else.
The moment the smallfolk stopped seeing dragons as gods and started seeing them as beasts, the foundation of Targaryen supremacy began to crack.

It wasn't a dance of joy.
It was a dance of fire, blood, death, and destruction.
When dragons danced, kingdoms burned, families died, and House Targaryen began its downfall.

Vaemond Velaryon knew exactly what would happen when he called Rhaenyra a w***e in front of the entire court.

Yet he said it anyway.
In a room full of lords who whispered those accusations behind closed doors, Vaemond was the only one bold enough to say them aloud. He challenged not only Rhaenyra's honor but also the legitimacy of her children and the authority of the future queen.
