Sofia Garcia sings. "Because I'm happy," she tells me. She sings at the trails too. Excessive desert heat doesn't seem to bother her. "¡Hola, hija!" We stop for a bit, chat, and during these fleeting breaks I got to know Sofia and learn what her songs are about.

“I’ve recorded in many different venues over the years. We used to distinguish in-studio recording from field recording, the latter allowing more nat sounds, ambi and being less controllable environment. Over the years the definition of “controlled studio recording” expanded. Sound pros use their closets, blankets over their heads, offices and their own cars as a studio environment.
