Exciting times at the Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts! We were thrilled to host Charles Cassell, Senior Regional Manager at Q-SYS, who brought a wealth of knowledge and cutting-edge AV technology straight to our students.

Charles delivered an inspiring talk, shedding light on the dynamic career opportunities within the audio-visual industry. From live sound to integrated systems, our students got a real glimpse into the diverse paths available to them. But it wasn’t just talk - they also got a fantastic hands-on experience with some of Q-SYS’s innovative gear!

A huge thank you to Charles and Q-SYS for investing in the next generation of AV professionals. Moments like these are invaluable for connecting academic learning with rea-world industry insights.

We had an awesome time hosting students from Loch Raven High School and Dulaney Valley High School last week! The energy was incredible as they toured our studios and got a firsthand look at the dynamic careers available in audio engineering, video production, and A/V technology.

It’s our mission to inspire the next generation of creative professionals, and these students brought the curiosity and excitement!

✨ Towson High Students Explore the Future of Media! 🎧🎬

Last week, our students took an incredible field trip to the Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts (SIRA)! It was an amazing opportunity to get an up-close, hands-on look at potential careers in audio engineering, video production, and A/V technology.

From mixing boards to control rooms, students gained valuable insight into the professional world of media arts. A special thank you to SIRA for hosting us and giving our students a glimpse behind the scenes!

And yes—they even got a professional portrait shoot to cap off the day! 🤩

What an incredible opportunity for our students when the Emmy-award-winning production company, Sympatico, came to visit us in Sheffield!

The team gave our students an amazing hands-on experience with their professional equipment, letting them get a feel for what it's really like on a set. They even helped set up and film a few scenes!

Huge thanks to Sympatico for sharing their expertise and inspiring the next generation of filmmakers. Watch the video to see the talent in action!
