On Animals, David Gilmour played a significant role in "Dogs", both musically and vocally. It’s the only song on the album where he shares lead vocals with Roger Waters. Gilmour sings the first part of the song, delivering a smooth yet sinister tone, while Waters takes over later as the lyrics become darker.

Musically, "Dogs" features some of Gilmour’s most impressive guitar work, with extended solos and intricate chord changes that define the track’s epic, almost hypnotic feel. His use of delay and clean picking in the acoustic sections adds to the song’s eerie atmosphere.

Gilmour has acknowledged that "Dogs" is one of the strongest tracks on the album, and it remains a fan favorite, even though it’s not performed live as often as some of Pink Floyd’s other hits. While he may not have been as emotionally invested in the album’s overarching political themes, his contributions to "Dogs"—both vocally and instrumentally—are undeniable.

David Gilmour, the legendary guitarist and vocalist of Pink Floyd, has been married to Polly Samson since 1994. Polly is a novelist, journalist, and lyricist who has played a significant role in Gilmour’s later work, both as a solo artist and with Pink Floyd. She contributed lyrics to The Division Bell (1994) and Gilmour’s solo albums, including On an Island (2006) and Rattle That Lock (2015).

Beyond her work with Gilmour, Polly is an accomplished writer, known for novels like A Theatre for Dreamers and Perfect Lives. Their relationship is a creative partnership, with Polly shaping much of Gilmour’s lyrical direction in recent years. Together, they have raised a blended family, including several children. Their marriage is a mix of music, literature, and deep collaboration, making them one of rock’s most enduring and artistically connected couples.

After their divorce, he married Polly Samson, a novelist and lyricist, in 1994. Polly has contributed to many of Gilmour’s solo projects and later Pink Floyd albums. Together, they have three children, including Romany Gilmour, who is a musician and often performs alongside her father.

Romany’s been a big part of the new album and tour, lending her beautiful vocals and musical talents to the mix. As David himself said, “I couldn’t be happier with the way Romany’s voice blends with mine and her beautiful harp playing has been another revelation,” highlighting just how special her contribution has been to the project.

Did you know David Gilmour, the legend behind Comfortably Numb, once sold his £3 million London mansion and donated every penny to a homeless charity called Crisis? He literally said, "I don't need all this luxury while others are fighting for a roof."
No media catwalk, no rockstar egos-just pure generosity.
He cashed in and quietly helped to change lives.
So next time you hear one of his epic solos, remember: the guy isn't just a guitar legend-he's a hero off the stage. Cheers, Dave. You the real MVP.❤️❤️
