Sharing an invite from our partners at ASU - Please join us for an unforgettable evening of bold conversation at Truth Across Borders, featuring legendary journalists Jorge Ramos () and Marty Baron.

Date: Monday, April 14, 2025
Time: 6:00–8:00 p.m. PST
Location: Evelyn Smith Music Theatre, ASU Tempe Campus

This bilingual event will explore how journalism breaks through barriers—cultural, linguistic, and political—to get to the truth.

Jorge Ramos, known as the “Walter Cronkite of Spanish Media,” led Noticiero Univision for nearly four decades.

Marty Baron guided The Boston Globe’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Spotlight investigation that exposed abuse in the Catholic Church.

Join ASU students, faculty, staff, and our wider community for a night that promises to inform, inspire, and ignite important conversations.

Hope you’re doing well!
Applications are open for this year’s Ñ Awards, NAHJ’s annual celebration of journalism that uplifts and centers Latino voices. We’d love your help promoting this to your chapter members and encouraging them to apply!

We were thrilled to attend the Cronkite Award Luncheon today, where Wolf Blitzer was honored for his remarkable journalism career. We also celebrated the next generation of storytellers and left with this powerful reminder:

“How we get the news will change. But the principles of journalism should not.”

For the 2nd consecutive year, JP Morgan Chase Bank served as our primary sponsor for the ALMA High School Workshop. In addition, Chase provided two financial experts to share with students their deep knowledge in budgeting, saving, creating sound credit, and staying alert to frauds and scams. Gracias to Chase Community Manager Christian Romero and Liz Avina, Chase Branch Manager, for sharing their wonderful consejos and knowledge with students. And a big shout-out to Chase’s Maura Saavedra Cordova, Vice President, U.S. Media Relations, for her inimitable work and commitment to this ongoing partnership with ALMA.
