A millibar is a unit of measurement for air pressure in the metric system. It is used in meteorology to measure the weight of the atmosphere above a surface. Here are some things to know about millibars:
Definition
A millibar is equal to 1/1000th of a bar, or 100 pascals. It is also equal to about 0.0145 pounds per square inch.
Standard air pressure
At sea level, the standard air pressure is 1013.2 millibars.
Weather patterns
Meteorologists use millibars to track weather patterns. They use lines called isobars to connect points of equal pressure on a weather map. Points above an isobar are lower pressure, and points below are higher pressure.
Barometer readings
A barometer can indicate if the weather will improve, worsen, or remain the same based on atmospheric pressure. A rising barometer usually means improving weather, while a falling barometer usually means worsening weather.
Hurricanes
Meteorologists and hurricane forecasters monitor hurricane pressure because lower pressure indicates a more intense storm. For example, a storm must drop at least 24 millibars over a 24-hour period to qualify as a bomb cyclone.

I believe this Natural Disaster is worse than Katrina... I drove from Houston to Jackson City the day after to bring Satellite phones to a client. It was bad... but I think this is much worse and we still have not seen any relief from this Government.
