Do any of y’all struggle with dry skin during the winter?
I have combination skin, but with the cold winter weather and dry air, my skin has been on the dryer side lately. So I made a few adjustments to my winter skincare routine.
Here are some tips for keeping your skin hydrated during the winter:
1. 𝐔𝐬𝐞 𝐚 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫: when you have dry skin, finding a cleanser that’s gentle and adds moisture to your skin is crucial. Like the Pure Skin Face Cleanser. This face wash has a creamy, moisturizing consistency. Like a whipped texture that locks in moisture on your face while it works to cleanse. It is also fragrance free.
2. 𝐓𝐫𝐲 𝐚 𝐇𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐮𝐦 : this helps to bind water to collagen, trapping moisture in the skin so that skin can appear plumper, dewier, and more hydrated. I really like the Hydroboost Hyalauranic Acid Serum from , it’s fragrance free and it provides long lasting hydration.
3. 𝐌𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞: try using moisturizers with occlusive or emollient based ingredients. I’m loving the Barrier + Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream, which is a deeply hydrating face cream with active lipids, peptides, small particle hyaluronic acid and rich shea butter for brightening, firming, and plumping. Also fragrance free.
4. 𝗪𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 : Even in winter, harmful UV light can still stress your skin’s moisture barrier, which is vital for maintaining skin health and hydration. The current one I’m enjoying right now is The Beet Shield from . It’s lightweight, feels hydrating and doesn’t leave a white cast.
5. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐡𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 : make sure you’re staying well hydrated throughout the day. Not taking in enough fluid can affect the appearance of your skin and also make it more susceptible to drying out.
