Fogo de Chao has officially arrived in Gilbert! 🔥🥩

The Brazilian steakhouse just opened its newest location near SanTan Village, and the space is STUNNING. It has a gorgeous bar and dining room with gaucho chefs carving fire-roasted meats tableside.

And my gluten-free friends, this one is GOOD. 🙌 So much of the experience is naturally GF, from many of the meats and Market Table offerings to the warm, cheesy pão de queijo brought straight to the table.

Come hungry because there’s picanha, filet, lamb, chicken, pork and more!

Gluten free at a place called Red, White & Brew? There’s a LOT more here than wine and beer. 🍝🍕🍷

Red, White & Brew is one of those menus where you have real choices, not just “here’s a salad, good luck.” 😂

There are plenty of dishes that are naturally gluten-free, including the RWB Chicken, plus they offer a GF crust for pizzas, GF penne for pasta dishes and even gluten-free cheese ravioli. And dessert isn’t an afterthought because the flourless chocolate cake is GF. 🙌

But…what happens in the kitchen?

For gluten-free orders, the team uses a separate prep/cooking area and changes gloves and utensils to help minimize cross-contact. Pasta is cooked in separate water, and GF pizzas are cooked on a screen so the crust doesn’t come into contact with the oven surface.

Red, White & Brew has been serving its signature bold American food for 24 years, with scratch-made generous portions and the kind of hospitality that keeps you coming back.

Find them in East Mesa and downtown Prescott 🌳

And as always, please talk with the restaurant about your individual needs when ordering!

Looking for a cool weather getaway that feels like summer camp? 🏕️

Village Camp Flagstaff blends the adventure of the outdoors with the convenience of a modern vacation home 🏡

Located in Bellemont, just west of Flagstaff, the outdoor resort offers tiny-home-style cabin rentals, full-hookup RV sites and even vacation home ownership opportunities 🚐

Families can spend the day at the pool, playground, pickleball and basketball courts, hiking trails and lawn games before gathering for live music, outdoor movies and s'mores around their own fire pit 🪵

We had so much fun Memorial Day weekend, with extra activities including face painting, a hat bar and a bags tournament 🇺🇸

Save this for a future Northern Arizona getaway! 🌲

Escaping the Phoenix heat with a trip to Prescott!🌳

For a small town, it sure is GF friendly!

Here’s what we did and where we went:

🥾 Hiked Goldwater Lake Trail (shaded, kid friendly, not stroller friendly)

🎸 Danced to live music at Courthouse Square’s live music concert series (every Tuesday and Thursday until September)

🍽️ Had dinner at Red, White & Brew (huge portions, dog-friendly patio & kids eat free on Tuesdays)

🏡 Stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn which is new, has a pool and is in a great location near downtown

💦 Played at the splash pad and playground outside the hotel

🔥Sat by the fire and listened to music at the Yard Gastropark food trucks

🍩 Got gluten free breakfast bagel sandwiches at Theodore’s Fine Foods and gluten free donuts at Parlor Doughnuts

🃏 Enjoyed ciders and games at Founding Father’s Collective City Tavern

The Mission has opened its third location in Gilbert! ✨

The vibe is one of my favorite parts of this Latin restaurant: glowing salt walls, gorgeous chandeliers, and warm lighting.

The Mission first opened in Scottsdale in 2007 and became known for blending modern cuisine with influences from Spain, Mexico, Central America and South America. The Gilbert location brings the same beautiful atmosphere and wood-fired flavors to the East Valley.

Now let’s talk gluten-free. 👏

The staff and chefs here are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to gluten allergies and sensitivities. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. They know the menu well and can guide you through options and modifications.

One important heads up: the complimentary chips and salsa are NOT gluten-free because soy sauce is used in the preparation. But don’t worry: let them know about your gluten concerns and they’ll bring fresh corn tortillas with a delicious green salsa instead.

There are plenty of naturally gluten-free options throughout the menu, from tacos and proteins cooked over the wood-fired grill to shareable plates and sides. Just be sure to communicate your needs and ask about preparation.

And don’t forget to order the tableside guacamole. You will not be disappointed by the size of this guac! 🥑

Snooze is one of those brunch places that keeps gluten free people coming back!

It has built its reputation on creative breakfast comfort food with a ton of GF options.

The standout for me are the pancakes. The lineup includes flavors like Cinnamon Roll, Strawberry Shortcake, and Pineapple Upside Down, all available individually or as a pancake flight. Each one is dessert-forward, with toppings like vanilla cream, fruit compotes, and caramel-style toppings. They are so fluffy and delicious, my friends could not tell if they were gluten free or not.

Some new dishes include the sweet potato veggie smash and the gluten free oatmeal and berries dish.

(PS Snooze, an A.M. Eatery - I still really miss the crab asparagus omelet!)

It is not a dedicated gluten free kitchen, but they do take precautions to avoid cross-contact.

There are multiple locations across Arizona and the Southwest! 🥞

After years of wishing, I finally found a spot nearby me that does gluten free breakfast burritos that don’t fall apart!...

Wow, how is everyone surviving Maycember?? 😮‍💨

Tried Mister Pio Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken in Phoenix for the first time and I was so impressed. Everything on the menu is gluten free: roasted chicken, salad, fries, sauce. It’s simple and amazing!

I first tried Ike's Sandwiches when there was only one location in San Francisco, finding it by accident while staying with a friend. I walked there every day and waited in line because the shop was small and the sandwiches were popular, and this was right when I went gluten free years ago, so the options were slim.

Cut to nearly two decades later and Ike’s has over 100 locations in 8 states, including 12 in Arizona alone.

They used to be unlike any other restaurant, not charging extra for GF BREAD. But hey, I get it, restaurant margins are tight and honestly it’s worth the extra $3.

Major props to Ike’s for using local gluten free bakery Creations instead of taking the easy route with small frozen sliced bread. It honestly makes all the difference!

There are more than 800 sandwich creations you can make from their menu, but my favorites are [Name of the Girl I’m Dating] #9 and Going Home for Thanksgiving #4.

Also a bonus: they know the difference between an allergy and a dietary preference and act accordingly 😎

Have you tried Ike’s yet?
