Film Fact Of The Day:

In the 1998 film Armageddon Bruce Willis and his band of rough neck misfits set off on a mission to save the world from an inevitable strike from a giant asteroid. Nasa actually shows this film to their management training program and asks them to find as many mistakes as they can in the film. To date there have been 168 mistakes have been found about the portrayal of Nasa in the movie.

In the 1994 film Forrest Gump Tom Hanks is giving a speech in Washington about Vietnam when suddenly the audio to the microphone cuts out. What Tom Hanks reportedly said when the audio went out is "sometimes when people go to Vietnam they come home to their mamas with no legs." "Sometimes they don't come home at all, that's a bad thing." "That's all I have to say about that."

In the 1985 film Back To The Future starring Christopher Lloyd and Michael J Fox, Michael was the first pick for writers Robert Zemekis and Stephen Speilburg but were not able to get him. Eric Stultz was actually cast as Marty Mcfly but didn't gel with the character and only lasted 6 weeks before he was told to kick rocks. Also considered for the role of Marty was Charlie Sheen, Johnny Depp and Ralph Maccio.

In the movie What About Bob Bill Murray aims to get his phobias under control by the upcoming famous Dr. Leo Marvin. In the film Bob follows Dr. Marvin and family to their summer home in lake Winnipesaukee NH. The movie was not actually filmed in Lake Winnipesaukee The film was actually shot in Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia.

In the film Dumb and Dumber Harry and Lloyd ride that mini bike from the plain states all the way to Aspen Colorado. In reality the part of the film shot in Aspen was actually Main St. in Breckenridge Colorado.

Film Fact Of The Day

In the 2000 film Scream 3 David Arquette (playing Dewey) and Courtney Cox (Gale Weathers) get together at the end of the movie despite the back and forth banter their characters had through out the trilogy.

In reality the couple was married in June 1999. This is just one month before Scream 3 photography and shooting started on July 6 1999.

I guess their true Scream characters played out in real life with all the bickering because the couple was divorced not too much later in May of 2013.

Stanley Kubricks The Shining written by Stephen King was inspired by a trip Stephen and his wife had taken. They had tried to drive across Trail Riidge road starting in Estes Park CO. When the snow was impassable on their way to Grand Lake they were forced to turn back and stay the night at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. The Stanley was the hotel behind the inspiration for both the book and the movie.
