To the rest it’s a short and happy moment captured in time. It’s a like, a share, a good job, or a yeah I passed three like that yesterday. But to the one who was on a 4 year chase to only have two chances ever to take at him… it’s an overwhelming weight off the shoulders. In a way it’s sad that the chase and the struggle with one deer is over. I’ll no longer be looking for him on camera, glancing for him eating clover in the plot during August. Wondering who shot him during the orange army pushes. Hoping and praying he can just survive one more winter to come back next year. This buck survived for upwards of 6 years only to slip up on my very first sit at plot this fall. The story of the Home Plot Eight has turned its last page. A book of tears, blood, sorrows, sleepless nights and pure blessings. It’s these challenges that drive a bow hunter to go to the extremes that most don’t understand. This right here, is why I do what I do. Never stop chasing your dreams…. Never lose your passion. Happy hunting folks.
