Fjallraven Classic Sweden🇸🇪

Me and 17 other women trekked 68 miles in 5 days through the arctic circle. It was so hard! We really put our blood, sweat, and tears into everyday. We pushed our bodies to the limit with a smile on our face. My heart is so full with the love and kindness we shared with each other.🫶🏾

Another day spent solo in the forest! I’m decked out head to toe in Halfdays! I love clothing that is both functional and cute.🦋

People often ask me if ever get bored on my solo camping trips but I never do. I love the solitude. My camp set up starts to feel like a ritual.

Solo backpacking at Mt.Rainer part two! This is one of the prettiest lakes I’ve ever seen. I’m so grateful I got to experience it! Most alpine lakes are freezing cold but this one was surprisingly a medium cold, so it was very refreshing. Ever solo trip I experience I gain more and more trust with myself. I didn’t wake up once through out the night which was a huge deal for me. Cheers to many more solo journeys!! 🌀

Another trip for the books! Mt.Rainer has a special place in my heart. The trees, moss, and alpine lakes are never ending. This time of year all the wildflowers are out and about. I feel lucky that I’m confident enough to explore these places on my own🌀💗

It’s been a really hot summer, so I look to the power of plants to help cool me down. Blackberries have astringent and cooling properties, making them the perfect plant for a refreshing elixir. wildwonder Blackberry Violet is the start of the show. It’s filled with a powerhouse of herbs like violet and juniper with live probiotics and prebiotic fiber, making it great for gut health! I will be drinking this all summer long.

If you are curious about foraging, I recommend starting with blackberries, they’re pretty hard to misidentify! Blackberries are a shrub and have 3 to 5 leaves with spiky thorns. They’re super rich and antioxidants and fiber. The cluster of berries starts off green and then turns pink to eventually dark purple. When they’re ripe, they shouldn’t have any resistance and should easily fall off the plant. Towards the end of the season, some of the super sweet ones even taste like cotton candy to me! The Pacific Northwest is covered with these and technically it’s an invasive species, so you can forage till your heart’s is content!

I did not grow up in a family that hunts and I never imagined that I would walk down this path. I have a deep desire to connect with my ancestral skills and to get closer to my roots. I started with plants and herbalism, and then moved to learning some primitive skills and lately I’ve been drawn to animal processing. I feel like there’s so much cognitive dissonance between our food, the life that it lives, how it dies, and when it touches our plate. I don’t want to look away from that process. I want to be a part of regenerative farming practices. To eat meat from an animal that lived it’s life outside. Processing an animal is no easy task. It is both emotionally and physically taxing. But it’s something we all used to be able to do. I’m so grateful for the community that I have found that wants to carry this torch. Shout out to Mia from dancingranchers, for sharing her knowledge with me. If you know any hunters in the Pacific Northwest, who intentionally hunt drop their info below!

Backpacking on black sand with ! This route felt like another planet. We trekked through a crater that was super exposed, inside the volcano was a wide a range of weather from blazing sun, intense wind and heavy rain but it’s all worth it. As much as I love solo trekking I also enjoy being with my friends, having someone else there to validate your reality can be very helpful lol. The highlight of the trip was definitely seeing a rainbow. At night the whole sky lit up with stars, I wish I could’ve kept my eyes open longer.🌈
