“Start the Week With God”

A new week means a fresh opportunity.

You may not know what this week is going to bring. There may be blessings you didn’t expect, battles you didn’t see coming, and decisions you’ll have to make along the way. But you don’t have to know what’s coming when you know Who is already there.

Proverbs 3:6 says:

“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Before you get caught up in the work, the responsibilities, and everything this week demands from you—put God first. Don’t wait until you need Him to start talking to Him. Don’t wait until you’re in trouble to start trusting Him. Walk with Him from the very beginning.

Start your Monday with God, and let Him lead you through the rest of the week.

“Don’t Let Friday Fool You”

We spend so much of our week waiting for Friday. We look forward to the weekend, a little rest, a little freedom, and a break from the grind.

But here’s the thought from the porch today:

Don’t spend so much time looking forward to tomorrow that you miss what God wants to do today.

Psalm 118:24 says, “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Today may not be perfect. You may be tired. You may have problems you haven’t figured out yet. But God gave you today. So before you rush into the weekend, stop and thank Him for this day. You’re still breathing. You still have a purpose. God is still on the throne and there’s still work for you to do.

That’s your Friday thought from the porch: Don’t just wait for a better day—thank God for the day He gave you.

Wednesday thought from the porch…

Sometimes we look at our lives and only see what’s unfinished, what’s broken, or what still needs to change. But God doesn’t see us that way.

Philippians 1:6 reminds us:

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

If God started something in your life, He hasn’t walked away from it. You may not see the finished product yet, but the Potter is still working with the clay. Don’t despise the process just because you’re not at the finished product. Keep trusting. Keep praying. Keep walking. Keep serving. God isn’t finished with you yet.

What a great time it’s been to get away and go to the Smoky Mountain Jubilee!! Thankful for Pastor CT, Pastor Joe, and Pastor Ralph and their hearts and their vision to carry the gospel into a sin sick world!! Our prayer is that the Lord keep fanning the flames and keep us on fire for God!
