Maple Hills True Dubh, or Maple as we call her, blessed us with a little black bull calf this morning. I captured some of her active labor this cold autumn morning 🖤

We had an awesome time yesterday capturing Christmas Fluffy Highland cow images with all the beautiful families who came! 🎄

We’ve spent today and yesterday working hard editing and will continue to edit through the week until everyone has their images.

🌿 Lazy Knoll Farm Tours – Now Booking! 🐄

Come visit our peaceful corner of Pilot Mountain, NC and meet our beloved Highland cattle and Babydoll sheep! Tours are by appointment only and tailored to your interests — whether you’re just curious, considering your first cow, or already raising cattle.

🚜 Tour Details:
• $100/hour per group (up to 4 people)
• $25 non-refundable deposit required to book
• Children under 12 must stay in the vehicle during pasture visits
• All guests must sign a liability waiver

👢 Visitor Guidelines:
• Waterproof or rubber boots required
• Recently been on another farm? Please disinfect your boots
• Only sanitized rubber boots allowed in pastures (boot covers provided)

We take animal safety and biosecurity seriously — and promise a fun, safe, and educational experience.

Welcome beautiful “Goosetavo” to the farm! 🩵He is a beautiful show quality gander from Judy Deninno of Destiny Acres.

I think it’s safe to say the girls welcomed him with open wings 🪽

AHCA Lazy Knoll Holly is definitely ready for winter with that gorgeous fur coat.

She looks just like her momma and will likely be that same coppery red color when she matures ❤️

On top of the new mobile coop for the chickens - we also finished the goose hut! Just in time for cooler temps ❄️🪿

This weekend we got busy on a small movable coop aka “Chicken Hotel” to replace our old rundown coop.

The thought process behind this was the manure should be able to fall through the wire and having it on wheels it can fertilize the whole run vs being stuck in one area.

I added small legs that can fold down once it’s in place for support however they aren’t working as well as I had hoped so I’m trying to reimagine them.

This evening we added the rollaway nest box. Fingers crossed the chickens like it as much as we do!

AHCA Lazy Knoll Rory is our Red Bull that was born on 8/1/2025 out of his red dam Schön Boden’s Leila #54,940 and dun sire Cactus Hill Shawnee #66,281.

Rory is already very friendly and curious. We anticipate he is going to be stunning and well built thanks to his awesome genetics - double dose of Gusgurlach of Windrush among other big names.

He will be available upon weaning - unless we decide to retain him for show 🤪
