Manufacturing & Stem Career Night at Pine Bush High School

10/02/2018

Circleville Elementary School had a contest over the summer called “Box Tops Across America” where students had to write and ask family members to send Box Tops to the school. They used the postmarks on the envelopes to determine where they were sent from. If all of the states were represented by September, principal (Amy Brockner) and assistant principal (Joe Prestianni) agreed to be slimed in front of the whole school!

Well, today was slime day!

A special thanks to Kelly Orndorff Williams, the Box Tops for Education coordinator for the Circelville Elementary School PTA.

Tri-County Community Partnership

We are pleased to announce that the Greater Pine Bush Partnership has officially become the “Tri-County Community Partnership”. While our mission of creating positive change by increasing awareness in our community about the risks of alcohol, tobacco and drug use remains the same, we feel our new name better reflects our unique community that exists at the point where the counties of Sullivan, Orange and Ulster intersect. Closely mimicking the borders of the Pine Bush School District, we are all connected through the adjoining towns of Crawford, Wallkill, Shawangunk and Mamakating. As the Tri-County Community Partnership, we will continue our efforts to build a safe and healthy community for us all.

Congratulations to Sal and Peggy Lucido, who I’ve recognized as March’s Citizens of the Month for their continued dedication to the Town of Wallkill community. The couple were nominated for the Citizen of the Month Award by Robert Sassi. Sal and Peggy are active members of the Wallkill East Rotary Club service organization. They have spearheaded pancake breakfasts, coat drives, road clean-ups, coordinated volunteer efforts with the Salvation Army and birthday parties for children at HONOR in Middletown. Their hard work, humility, and generosity is appreciated by many and I’m glad to recognize them both. Rotarians in action! "Service above Self" https://www.facebook.com/WallkillEastRotary/
Neighbor helping neighbor... getting closer to starting our own community Repair Cafe. Anyone looking to be part of this endeavor, please PM me. We are going to need volunteers and local experts to help at the Cafe. Any skilled trade is welcome, but specifically those who can repair electronics, clothing, jewelry, furniture, appliances, books, toys and more! Even a massage therapist for body repair is helpful. Thinking this will be a quarterly event starting in January, then April, July and October. Please watch the video. It captures the spirit of community perfectly!
Come check out the NEW Raffles, exciting vendors, spectacular artists, tasty food and much more at the Annual Pine Bush Harvest Festival on September 21st. Rain date 9/22.
