It’s time for the big news!
🔵🔵 Bell County High School Students to Receive New Tuition-Free College Opportunity 🔵🔵
Bell County High School is excited to announce a new partnership with Union Commonwealth University that will provide graduates of the Class of 2027 with the opportunity to attend Union tuition-free beginning in Fall 2027.
Through Union’s Tuition-Free Pathway, eligible students can have 100% of eligible tuition and comprehensive fees covered for up to eight semesters. The program works alongside federal and other financial aid, with those resources applied first. Room and board, books, personal expenses, and certain student, course, and laboratory fees are not covered.
Union President Dr. D.J. Washington and members of the university’s admissions team will Bell County High School this morning to share the announcement with our Bobcats. The expansion to Bell County follows the successful launch of the program in Knox County.
“We are incredibly grateful for this investment in our students,” said Bell County School District Superintendent Brian Crawford. “This is an incredible opportunity for our students and our community. By removing the financial barriers that can often stand between a student and a college education, this partnership opens a door that could change the trajectory of so many young lives. Our students now have the opportunity to stay close to home, receive a quality college education, and begin their future without the burden of tuition. We are incredibly grateful for this investment in our students and excited about what it means for the future of our community.”
Principal Jeff Brock, who is an alumnus of Union said, “We are excited for this opportunity for the class of 2027 and thankful to Union for investing in our area’s children while providing them with a wonderful education. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity in many ways and will give our Bobcats a jumpstart towards achieving their dreams.”
The priority application deadline is November 1, 2026 which a key date for those looking to take advantage of this opportunity.
