Alpaca/Rambouillet Sport Yarn dyed with Cosmos flowers by Integrity Alpacas! A note from Charlene: Each year I create a blend of my alpaca fiber with another Fibershed member. I like that I can support other producers while making a unique blend that showcases the best of combined fibers. In 2023, I produced a blend of 50% Climate Beneficial Transitional alpaca fiber from our herd with 50% Lani’s Lana’s Climate Beneficial Fine Rambouillet Wool.
The yarn was beautifully spun at the Olympia Fiber Mill in Washington State and this year I requested fi*****ng and sport weights. To save a little money and increase flexibility, the yarn is returned on cones providing the freedom to make custom skeins for any project.

Each 2-ply sport weight skein is 3.5 oz / 260 yards. The 6 available skeins have been hand dyed in dried cosmos flowers produced by Fibershed member, Kassenhoff Growers.

Integrity Alpacas & Fiber is proudly the first producer of wool pellets using a blend of alpaca and wool diverted from landfills in California. Our pellets are registered as a specialty fertilizer with the state of California. We also offer high quality yarns and the goods I crochet/weave for those who just want the luxury of alpaca scarves, wraps and hats. Most colors used in natural dying are grown on the ranch.

Classifieds Listing - Alpacas for Sale from Menagerie Hill Ranch, Vacaville California

Alpacas produce wonderful fiber and excellent manure for the garden, and do a great job of keeping your grass down.

These Alpacas have wonderful fiber for carding and spinning. All are healthy, well cared for, recently shorn, and halter trained. Many have been shown and won ribbons.Prices depend on quality of fiber, physical conformation and female pregnancy status - starting at $1,000 each. They must be sold in pairs (3-5 is better) unless you already have Alpacas due to their being herd animals. And males and females cannot be housed together, so you must buy two or more of the same gender if you don't already have alpacas.Alpacas are easy to care for and gentle on the land. They use communal dung piles so are easy to clean up after.
Don't worry if you are new to Alpacas. We will be happy to teach you what you need to know about them. And we provide on-going mentoring as needed after your purchase.

Integrity: A way of Life

The first producer of wool pellets in California! Creating an economically sustainable regional carbon cycle.

Integrity Alpacas & Fiber, established in 2013, has grown from the original 4 alpacas to over 30 in the herd today. Our herd composition supports a focus on producing uniform white fleece. Integrity Alpacas & Fiber processes only the best fiber into alpaca yarn and a special annual blend using selected fiber from our Fibershed Producers to support a cycle of economic sustainability in our region. Additionally, “waste” fiber produced in this region of California is diverted from landfills and processed on the ranch into our newest product, Gardener’s Gold® Wool Pellets.
As of spring 2023, we began production of regionally sourced unprocessable wool blended with alpaca fiber--Gardener's Gold® Wool Pellets, designed to hold water in soil. Natural fibers act as a sponge in holding the excess water in the soil of potted, container and raised beds, releasing the water back to the roots as the soil dries. This extends the time between watering and keeps the roots at a more consistent level of moisture. The pellets also serve to increase aeration and porosity in soil. If used topically, the wool fibers repel slugs and snails increasing the well-being of the plants. Gardener's Gold® Wool Pellets are in process of labeling approval to become a registered specialty fertilizer in California, as we are on our third submission for approval. Result from NPK analysis to date indicates the nitrogen is primarily unsoluable (slow release) and ranges batch to batch between 11 and 14. All packaging is recycled/recyclable and the production machines operate on solar power.
From beginning to end, Integrity is a way of life.

Integrity Alpacas & Fiber are located in Northern California - visit their website at integrityalpacas.com

We are gearing up to do a breed study of Soil to Soil member fiber breeds and we want your help!

How do you decide what fiber to purchase?

Do you make your purchasing decisions by any of the following?

1. It’s soft and the animal is cute so I want to use it.
2. I recognize the breed and/or farmer and only use that fiber or yarn
3. I want to make a specific project and need a certain type of fiber
4. I don’t have a reason, I just want to add to my fiber stash.
5. Fill in the blank………

Fibershed Directory has a new name! Presenting Soil to Soil Directory a gathering of eco-system enhancing, regionally focused producers.

There has been some confusion regarding the Directory and its connection with Fibershed. The Directory was created by me, Gynna Clemes in an effort to support and help producers to market and sell their products. The directory is a completely separate entity from Fibershed and Fibershed Affiliates. Membership with your local affiliate is a prerequisite to joining the directory.

The goal of the Directory is to exclusively market participating Fibershed producers and artisans, with an emphasis on each producer’s region. All products and producers listed meet Fibershed Product Requirements. Products are harvested and grown in each producer’s region, and made in the USA with US labor.
Over the next few weeks we will implement the new name and branding. We are working with our website developers to ensure a smooth transition.
