YAS Work YAS Work is a non-profit that is dedicated to to educating people about SW's, the nuances of their lives and why they deserve rights and respect.

We do this through art, consulting, panel discussions, and media, including a podcast.

We made this presentation for our website to encourage our friends and family members that are low hanging fruit.  We know there are people out there that over time have learned that supporting SW’s is important, but don’t understand the language yet, or the nuances.  If you ask them to explain the issues, would they be able to explain it to someone else clearly?  

So we made this, a visual guide for people who want to help, but need a little extra help themselves understanding.  The reasons for supporting SW activism listed in this presentation isn’t just for YAS Work, the reasons listed here are for all of us.  

Our goal is to use visuals to teach, keeping it simple and easy to retain. This way civilians can be advocates for us as they move through life, and feel empowered to talk about SW issues and share with others how they can help.

We’re back from a long holiday break. We have found that taking breaks one of the keys to sustainability in this line of work. We’ve had time to reflect and reset for the new year. We hope you did too, or did whatever was good for you.

This is our thank you to the community! It’s impossible not to learn from you and we wanted to acknowledge that. We hope that you feel you have learned from us as well.

We made it through a very tough year, and this one already is putting us all to the test. Sending you strength and love as we all persevere.

December 17th is International Day to End Violence Against Swrs, first observed in 2003 by and . This day was created to remember workers in our community who have been lost and to raise awareness about the harm caused by stigma, criminalization and exclusion.

Everyone deserves safety, dignity and respect. 🕯️

Did you miss our live yesterday? Well, that could be because IG wouldn’t let us go live when it was time!  Or you were busy lol.

BUT, we did go live on AMdavies_ and had our friends join us there for  conversations and a raffle event.  Because we had to scramble and change online venues, we decided to extend our Giving Tuesday raffle.

The QSWIR (aka *xworkkenya) needs our help. Thank you to those of you who have donated. Your support really makes a huge difference. Monthly donation are best, even if it’s just a few dollars a month, that amount goes a long way.

This group does incredible work, despite the constant hurdles they are up against. They are dealing with much harsher laws than most of us, one where simply being Q is illegal.
