In the 1960s, a three-story mansion (built by J. Seward Johnson of the Johnson & Johnson family) was bought by Charles Farmer for $35,000. Charles Farmer and his wife, Barbara Farmer, lived there until 1963 when Mrs. Farmer was shot and killed. After his third trial on a charge of having murdered his wife, Mr. Farmer was acquitted in 1967, with the court ruling he had been insane at the time of the killing.🔎
