Martina Mariea Schiff, who the world now knows as Martina McBride, was born on this day in 1966. 💜

Martina is the powerhouse vocalist behind beloved country hits such as "A Broken Wing," "Independence Day," and "This One's for the Girls."

Her talent has led her to win the CMA Award for Female Vocalist of the Year four times and she was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 1995.

Now, we're celebrating another milestone in Martina's life, as she turns 59 today! 🎉

Corn Sweat is real. An Acre of corn releases 4,000 gallons of moisture into the atmosphere per day. This in turn raises the humidity and drives those dew points up even higher resulting in much higher heat index’s.

The process is actually called evapotranspiration which is how all plants release water v***r back into the atmosphere. There is another phenomenon that’s still a grey area on if this can result in more popup storm production. Sometimes it seems the storms pop further eastward of the actual agricultural land likely because of the wind direction and motion in the atmosphere to give the storms time to lift.

To give you an idea, a single oak tree only releases 100 gallons per day. So when you have a very large crop field sometimes several hundred acres, you can only imagine how this can have extreme localized impacts oftentimes raising that dew point some 5 to 10 degrees more than other areas around it.
