Hey yinz guys! Steve Sims here — creator and director of Yinz Gone Wild.

First off, I wanted to say thank you. The support you’ve shown these last few months has been incredible. I honestly never expected this project to connect with so many people, and I’m grateful for each of you.

Normally I’d record a video update, but I’m off the grid for a few days, so you’re stuck with a photo and these words instead.

As I dig deeper into the YGW footage, watch the stories of the day unfold, and start shaping the edit, something became very clear: this isn’t the small project I originally set out to make.

So I’ve decided that for the remainder of this year and into next year, I’m putting my sole focus on Yinz Gone Wild with the goal of making an incredible film about my home.

Time to buckle down, disappear into the edit, and make the movie I’ve always wanted to make.

🏆🖤💛 Yinz Gone Wild needed a trophy that screamed Pittsburgh. So naturally, we started with a Heinz ketchup bottle. 🍅😎

Then Terry Walsh got involved and designed a custom trophy base, and somehow this beautiful piece of Pittsburgh nonsense became a reality. 🤝✨

Each member of the winning team took home one of these custom Heinz ketchup trophies, while the runners-up received the slightly less glamorous mustard trophy. 🤷‍♂️🤣

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, six content creators set out on a citywide scavenger hunt across Pittsburgh. Alongside two camera crews, they captured an unforgettable day full of stories, chaos, and the people who make this city what it is.

Now…the real work begins. 🎬

Thank you, Pittsburgh, for an incredible day. The love and support we felt across the city was beyond anything we ever expected. We can’t wait to share this project with yinz and show the Burgh to the world.
