While we were in Chicago, we went to Chicago State University. We could see ourselves going there now that we’ve visited. And we saw some cuties on the basketball team. It was a nice experience to touch things that Kanye West used because we’re not rich enough to see what he sees now. If you didn’t know, Kanye’s mom was a teacher at Chicago State and he recorded an album there. The film and media department was nice. They even had a radio station. We did visit University of Chicago too but we don’t want to go there.

Hey guyssss it’s Amber. We’ve been on a little break but we’re back to finish telling y’all about Chicago and other stuff we’ve been doing. We were in the mall and miyah thought she saw D Low and I didn’t believe her so I asked. He said yes. Y’all I felt like I was 8 all over again. He was so nice and chill, I wish we could’ve did the dance with him but over all 10/10 experience.

Hey guys it’s niya!! So first of all if y’all didn’t know, we went to Chicago recently for a conference and other exciting things. But before we get into all that let me tell y’all about the airport experience and the plane ride. The airport was not as hard to navigate around as I thought it would be. From luggage to TSA and baggage claim in Chicago. I think TSA was probably my favorite part because it wasn’t what I thought it would be. The plane ride was a little scary but i kept telling myself that i was on a roller coaster😭😭

Hey guys so we had the chance to meet with a therapist named Gene-Leigh Zeigler, MS, LPC . She kept it real with us and told us things that people didn’t tell her before going into a psychology major.

A psychologist is a person who practices psychology and studies mental states perceptual, cognitive, emotional and social processes and behavior. But, psychiatrist is the one that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.

Last month we got the opportunity to meet with a PNC banker, Mr. Darrious Carter, that talked to us about what it is like to do his job. Here’s a few things we’ve learned from him:
1.)The higher your credit score is the higher your APR (annual percentage rate) will be.
2.)You don’t want to spend more than 30% of your credit card limit.
3.)If you commit fraud at a bank you will not able to have an account with them again.

Shoutout to Atty. Keenan Holmes, Founder and CEO of Ebony Law, for coming to talk to us. He asked us an important question, so we will ask y’all: What is law?

We were surprised that there is no one answer and that it can mean so many things. We learned interesting info about Roe v. Wade, housing laws, and education cases. This was a special visit for HYPE member Nadia because she wants to be a defense attorney one day!

So we have some exciting news, HYPE is moving up!!!!

We here been blessed with a new space in the CEC. Special thanks to the School of Education for designing such a HYPE space and for helping Dr. K start a new chapter. We’re looking forward to making new memories, experiences, and opportunities.
