Apparently, we need to talk about CHILD MODELING. 😂

I sent my 9-year-old daughter’s new modeling headshots to her agency. They picked their favorites.

The photos came out BEAUTIFUL. 😍👏🏾

Then I received this:

“Where are we with orthodontia? I don’t think I saw her front tooth before.”

😭😭😭

SHE’S NINE.

Her baby teeth are still falling out. Her permanent teeth are coming in. Her dentist has already evaluated the situation and told us to let the baby tooth fall out naturally.

But apparently, somebody looked at these gorgeous photos and thought ORTHODONTIA needed to be the conversation. 😂

And that’s where I’m like…

BFFR.

Kids have gaps. Kids lose teeth. Kids have teeth coming in behind or in front of other teeth. Their smiles CHANGE. That’s literally part of growing up.

And I’m not saying an agency can’t give constructive feedback. Of course they can.

But I also believe there’s a difference between professional development and making a child feel like something completely normal about their appearance is a PROBLEM.

Especially when the child is NINE.

And what’s funny is… THEY PICKED THESE PHOTOS. 😂

So you saw the smile. You saw the tooth. You saw the child.

Meanwhile, I’m looking at these pictures seeing personality, expression, confidence, versatility and a child who photographs BEAUTIFULLY.

So guess what?

We’re submitting elsewhere. 💅🏾

Because I’m not going to allow one agency’s opinion—or anyone’s personal preference—to make my daughter feel like she has to be “fixed” before she deserves opportunities.

She’s nine. She’s growing. She’s learning. She’s talented. And she’s already camera-ready.

The tooth will fall out when it falls out. 😂🦷
