No Remorse Records was working closely on the reissues for years, exchanging many emails and conversations with Frankie Banali who believed that these albums are very important in the legacy of Quiet Riot, since they paved the way of the band's reformation and the success of Metal Health in 1983...

Please note that as of right now - ~2:40PM EDT, the web player is down. This is an issue at my provider, Citrus3. I have no control over this - just have to wait until they get their feces conglomerated. However, the STN app works just fine, and can be found on the Google Play Store. You can also go to either of these radio pages in the image and tune in. Hopefully everything will be back up and running normally by air time though. Thanks!

Hey folks! My radio provider, Citrus3, is having issues right now, so the web-based players aren't working.
We're still streaming though! The app is working just fine, and the radio aggregator sites should be just fine.
You can also head to radio . net and check us out there:

Hi folks! The AutoDJ interface is currently offline - nothing to do on my end, this is my provider. Anyway, music is still flowing on the Android app, so now is as good a time as any to download and install it! Hit up the Google Play Store and search for Signal To Noise Radio.

These outages are usually short-lived, so I'm hoping for the same this time.

This week in 1980, Def Leppard released their debut LP, ON THROUGH THE NIGHT. The band began their career in 1979 by adopting a fairly heavy sound, which played a big part in convincing music critics to lump them in with the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (their later work, however, was often criticized for straying too far from their roots). The song "Rock Brigade" is a fantastic opener, and it proved to be an obvious choice for the first of three singles released later that year (the others being "Wasted" and "Hello America"). The band also chose to include re-recorded versions of "Rocks Off" and "Overture," which had previously appeared on their self-titled EP in January 1979. On Through the Night eventually rose to #51 on the Billboard 200, and laid the musical foundation for their spectacular follow-up, High 'n' Dry.

A small, but needed upgrade to Studio B: studio monitors! Up until yesterday I'd been using some old computer speakers for sound. They were...OK. Nothing great, not horrible. These though - wow! Even though they're the smallest monitors Mackie makes, they sound *awesome*! So much more detailed for when I'm editing audio, listening back, etc. Very happy with these monitors!

Tonight is the debut of "Unsupervised" with myself and J.D. Rich! Tonight's premiere episode will be the soundtrack to "The Lost Boys" (1987). Tune in and hear some great music, and the two of us prattle on about it!

Happy St. Patrick's Day eve everyone! This evening on Signal To Noise - it's Descent Into Anarchy! Tonight it's the Star Wars soundtrack on LP - 1977 original pressing. Then it's (most of) the soundtrack from Batman (1989). After all of the soundtrack goodness, stick around for The John Peel Model - 2 hours of indie music! It all starts at 7ET (midnight GMT). Thanks for your support.

Alright, Otto the DJ (Auto DJ) is back online, with nearly 6 gigabytes of music to stream - a *lot* of is is new to the Auto DJ service. Apologies again for the dead air, but it turned out it was necessary in order to do what I needed to do. Please enjoy, and tune in this evening at 7PM ET for A Shot of JD!

03/12/2022

Hey folks - we know there's dead air right now. Working on the Auto DJ & it's a bit involved & we're not able to broadcast the setlist we had planned to. Apologies for the inconvenience and we'll be back up & running asap, but this may take a while.
Thanks for your patience and support!

STN programming note: tomorrow sometime in the late morning/early afternoon, I will be taking the auto DJ offline to revamp the playlists and hopefully make the music selection a lot more random than it is now. Our regularly scheduled programming, starting at 7 ET with "A Shot of JD" will go on as scheduled. Thanks, and thanks for listening to Signal To Noise!

We were recently asked to make a guest playlist for the brilliant UK based Signal To Noise Radio show, and it's now available to listen to here as a part of their latest episode, featuring a range of our favourite Victorian noise-peddlers - Muddy Lawrence, Dead Boomers, Military Position, Headlopper, Ashbel, DFFDL, Religious Observance, Schkeuditzer Kreuz, Holy B***r, The Impossible No Goods, and Spew Balloon - with a special guest appearance by Na**lm Death. Give it a squiz, eh?
Metallica's version is better ... 😉 (Die, Die My Darling...)
I think tonight your playing tracks from the BLADE soundtrack! Good stuff!
My pal Tom Keeling returns to chat about 1995’s Empire Records, and as usual, I find an excuse to go off on a shrill, raving diatribe against the institution of higher education. Other topics covered include my failing body, The Office, and the breadth of musical styles explored by AC/DC. Tom runs an internet radio station called Signal To Noise Radio, and you can listen to it totally free most nights of the week. Check it out at https://stnradio.com/ The Hold-Up with Stephen Stull is a member of the Without Your Head podcast network. This week, I’m talking to a buddy from the way-way-way back, my friend Tom Keeling. We’re chatting about Empire Records (1995), as well as Scotch eggs, the vodka aisle at Ralph’s, and everyone’s seemingly total inability to just wear their damn masks properly! We also both give our best P*e Wee Herman in Buffy the Vampire Slayer impressions, and I do quite a lot of fist shaking at these kids with their music. Tom runs an internet radio station called Signal To Noise Radio that you can listen to most nights of the week for free!
