Cocky’s Coop Grand Opening Draws Amazing Crowd—Amazing Food, Support, and That Canonsburg Energy

Rain couldn’t stop it, and neither could the OFFICIAL open. Cocky’s Coop made their official grand opening known today in downtown Canonsburg—and the crowd? Let’s just say if you didn’t swing by for a smash burger, hot-honey chicken sandwich or more yet, you might already be behind. The line kept coming, the grill kept sizzling, and even the clouds couldn't cool the energy. Eric Miller, Executive Chef, co-owner, Kevin Nelson, and the team kept it humble, but the turnout was anything but.

This wasn’t just about food (although the entire menu is next-level). This was about a hometown place doing it right—local folks making great food and offering something you can’t get from a drive-thru: a sense of community. The staff brings heart, hustle, family, and a few hard-earned second chances to the kitchen—no speeches needed, just good food made by good people.

And look—we noticed a few extra familiar faces in the crowd. Could be the rain… could be the Nate Mass food group cameo. Many foodies, of different types, are showing up! Either way, there’s still time to get there before closing of the grand opening. Snap a pic, tag a friend, and follow Cocky’s Coop for daily specials and new menu drops. And if you want to keep seeing local entrepreneurs get the shine they deserve, hit follow on America period too. We’re just getting started.

Powering Pennsylvania's Future: The Unyielding Promise of Marcellus Shale

"Marcellus Shale isn't just an energy source—it's the bedrock of Pennsylvania's economic resurgence and America's energy independence."

In the heart of Southwestern Pennsylvania, the Marcellus Shale stands as a testament to American ingenuity and resilience. Contrary to recent narratives suggesting a pivot away from natural gas, the facts underscore its pivotal role in our region's prosperity and national energy strategy.

Economic Engine of Pennsylvania

In 2022 alone, Pennsylvania's natural gas industry supported approximately 123,000 jobs, offering average wages around $97,000—more than double the state's median income. This sector contributed over $41 billion to the state's economy and generated $3.2 billion in state and local tax revenues, bolstering public services across all 67 counties.

Empowering Communities and Households

Beyond job creation, the industry has paid out $6.3 billion in royalties to landowners and government entities, directly benefiting countless families. Moreover, the abundance of locally produced natural gas has led to lower energy bills for residents, with UGI customers experiencing significant savings on heating costs.

Fueling the Future: AI and Data Centers

The synergy between natural gas and emerging technologies is evident as Southwestern Pennsylvania becomes a hub for AI-driven data centers. Projects like the $10 billion redevelopment of the Homer City Generating Station illustrate how natural gas powers the infrastructure of tomorrow, attracting investments and creating high-tech jobs.

Environmental Responsibility and Energy Independence

Advancements in drilling technology have made natural gas extraction more efficient and environmentally friendly. Natural gas serves as a cleaner-burning alternative to coal, contributing to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. By harnessing our domestic resources, we reduce reliance on foreign energy, enhancing national security.

The Marcellus Shale is more than a geological formation; it's a cornerstone of economic growth, community development, and energy innovation. Embracing responsible natural gas exploration ensures that Pennsylvania remains at the forefront of America's energy landscape, securing a prosperous future for generations to come.

🔎 Key Witness in Murder Case Sues Washington County Judge and DA, Alleges Coercion and Civil Rights Violations

📰 A woman who testified in a high-profile Washington County homicide case has filed a federal lawsuit against District Attorney Jason Walsh and Common Pleas Judge John DiSalle, alleging that they violated her civil rights by coercing her into cooperating with prosecutors.

According to the lawsuit, the witness claims she was detained without proper legal process and pressured to testify against her boyfriend, who was later convicted of killing a man in 2020. She alleges that both the DA’s office and Judge DiSalle disregarded her rights, causing trauma and damage to her reputation.

“They locked me up and forced me to testify. I never had a choice.”
— Plaintiff’s federal lawsuit filed May 2025

This isn’t the first time Judge DiSalle’s conduct has come under legal scrutiny. Earlier this year, a former courthouse employee filed a separate lawsuit accusing the judge of wrongful termination and a hostile work environment. That case is still pending.

Judge DiSalle, who stepped down as President Judge in early 2024 and is currently seeking retention for another 10-year term, has not publicly responded to the allegations. The District Attorney’s office has also declined to comment on the pending litigation.
