Ok Android users! The time is here to test the Alpha of Reelster, our TikTok alternative! APPLE USERS, YOUR TEST TRACT IS COMING. Here are the instructions for Android users to test Reelster:
1) Visit the following link: https://fromsmash.com/Reelster0202
2) Download the Reelster APK
3) Depending on your device settings, you may get either "Do you want to install this app?" or "This file may harm your device. Do you wish to continue?"
4) Click Yes on either prompt. (the warning is due to the app being downloaded outside of Google Play)
5) Use Quick Signup Option (we will be adding email and SMS signup options post test, but your test accounts can and will remain active if you choose them to remain such)
6) Where you see gibberish on signup page under name, enter your desired username which will be your at symbol tag, as well as your reelster.io/ profile link.
7) The home screen allows you to toggle through current live streams, Reels, and our 1 to 1 touch screen feature to find people local to you.
8) The photo icon on the bottom menu is our photo sharing platform built in. To post here, click the Record button bottom center and select Moment and upload away!
For the purposes of testing, we have parental controls off, saving of live streams off, payment gateways off, money transfer off, hyperlink post and reel sharing off, duets off, splicing off. Essentially, we want to test massive video upload amounts and keep turning on feature after feature to test performance.
***IMPORTANT - FOR NOW, REEL UPLOADS MUST BE AT LEAST 5 SECONDS AND NO LONGER THAN 30 SECONDS. WE WILL BE CHANGING THIS TO 1 SECOND TO 10 MINUTES MAXIMUM AT LAUNCH.
Please test it out and post a TON OF CONTENT and get acclimated with the base Alpha version. Once we get through this, we'll launch the beta in the app stores!
