Who is writing your biography: your potential, or your insecurities?

Award-winning hip-hop artist CEE Brown (CEE Brown) has spent his entire life fighting a war inside his own head. He survived being homeless at 19, navigated toxic relationships, and battled a depression so deep it led him into the abyss.

But when he woke up, he had a radical realization: he had to be here.

We talk about pouring your pain into a microphone, climbing out of the dark, and this week’s “Write the Story” challenge. Stop letting your insecurities write your biography and take the pen back.

If you have the power to tell yourself a sad story, you have the same power to tell yourself a happy one.

We constantly let our egos dictate our decisions by focusing on the fear of losing or the pressure to maintain a perfect record. Instead of letting that fear keep you on the sidelines, check in with yourself and trust your preparation. Tell yourself that it is completely normal for you to win. Step into the arena knowing you have trained hard and are ready to perform to the best of your ability.

Flip the Narrative

When you constantly replay the sad stories and lies in your head, you instantly become a victim to your own circumstances.

While there is absolutely a time to mourn your losses, replaying those negative narratives on a loop will keep you stuck in a cycle of shame and prevent you from moving forward. Avoiding those lies is an actual form of discipline because it forces you to stay accountable for the things you can control. Stop ruminating on what went wrong and start taking the accountability necessary to change your trajectory.

Resilience is more than just bouncing back; it’s the active choice to overcome the doubt that is holding you back.

When you are faced with an opportunity that scares you, it is easy to let the fear of losing dictate your decisions. But true relentlessness means having the faith to take the leap anyway. It is about trusting in God and remembering that you have been guided and protected through every past challenge. Keep showing up, keep doing what makes you feel alive, and have faith that the outcome will be exactly what it is meant to be.

When you see other people fail, you likely tell them to brush it off, learn from it, and try again next time.

You tell them to “fail forward.” But do you give yourself that same grace? Many of us struggle to apply our own advice to our own lives. If you have the wisdom to tell others to embrace their failures, you have to be willing to do the same for yourself. Take an honest look at your own setbacks, dust yourself off, and get back in the game.

The alarm goes off. It’s dark. The mental debate begins.

Every time you negotiate with yourself—hitting snooze, delaying a project, or waiting until you are “ready”—you are choosing immediate comfort over long-term greatness. It feels like logic in the moment, but it’s actually a defense mechanism that is quietly destroying your self-trust.

Have you ever stopped to ask yourself why you do what you do?

It’s easy to let anxiety take over, convincing yourself that you have to perform just to be loved, valuable, or worthy. But you will always perform your best when you eliminate those heavy expectations and focus on the joy of the process. Shift your mindset away from the pressure to succeed and start doing things out of the pure enjoyment of competing and gaining a new skill set.

When you do the work because you truly love to play the game, that is when you unlock your highest potential.

Find Your Why

Sometimes you have to approach your goals with a singular mindset: WAR.

When the journey gets tough and you have to fight for what you want, you must be willing to dig deeper and fight harder than anyone else in the room. If life tests you, you have to be ready to go the distance and take it there. Adopt the mantra, get busy, and refuse to be outworked.
