Standing 511 feet tall with 39 floors, the K&L Gates Center has been a bold part of Pittsburgh’s skyline since 1968. 🗓️ Originally called One Oliver Plaza, this modernist skyscraper is famous for its unique reddish-brown Cor-Ten steel facade, which naturally weathers to protect itself from corrosion. Designed by Curtis and Davis, it’s home to global law firm K&L Gates and sits just steps from the Cultural District, PPG Place, and the 💦 Allegheny River, making it one of downtown’s most recognizable landmarks. ✨

I never realized Pittsburgh renamed Wood Street after Jim Rohr, the CEO of PNC Bank from 2000-2013. I didn’t know who he was, but upon some research he wasn’t just a banker.. he was one of the key figures who helped guide Pittsburgh from a struggling post-industrial city into a more diversified, livable, and economically stable place. 🤔
